3 Ways to Squeeze More Joy Out of Your Mornings (Part 2)
Mornings are meant to be joyful and fulfilling
The first installment of this two-part blog post showed you how to wake up early and be happy or joyful.
The second part will show you how to make your mornings even better.
The days start off with a bang and end with a whimper, which is why it’s so important to fill the morning hours with joy and nature.
These three tips will help you do just that:
Get your workout in first thing
The first thing many people do in the morning is taking a shower or brush their teeth. You could also get your workout in first thing.
If you’re not someone who needs to exercise every day, you could still work it into your morning routine on days when you’re feeling less than energetic.
Exercise revs up your metabolism and releases endorphins, giving you the energy boost you need to start your day.
Don’t feel like exercising? That’s okay! You can meditate for 5–10 minutes before embarking on the rest of your morning rituals.
Meditation will help clear your mind and put you in a better mood to tackle the day’s tasks.
Have breakfast outside
Did you know that the average person only spends about 20 minutes outside each day?
This statistic alone should be enough to convince you to eat breakfast outside every day. But, if not, here are a few more reasons:
A change in scenery can help your mood and creativity significantly. Being outside in the morning is an opportunity to see the world with fresh eyes.
You’ll feel different because of it. It will give you time to appreciate your surroundings too instead of feeling rushed.
Make morning time for yourself
The best way to start your day is to give yourself some time in the morning to do something just for you.
That could be taking a walk, doing yoga, reading a book, or eating breakfast without any interruptions.
Create an environment for yourself that’s conducive to your creativity and well-being.
This could be something as simple as lighting candles or pouring coffee into your favorite mug.
You don’t have to spend hours making elaborate plans every morning — just find something that brings you joy and commit to it for one week.
The Final Thoughts
The morning is the best time to create. If you want to be a successful creative, you need to start your day with creativity.
You need to stop being so “punchy” and instead proactively bring your best self into the world.
Start your mornings with joy and not anything else.
