The Sun Will Rise
GiaB writing prompt #15: illumination
Imagine if we go to bed tonight With the belief that the sun won’t rise And every day was going to be pitch black With no stars or moon in sight.
It must surely be The beginning of the end And we would all be in shock and fright.
I liken light, to a fuel that sustains Not the type, that may bring the end of days But one that reminds, hope still thrives.
For it travels through Great distances to find us, Whether astral or lunar Sunbeams or artificial rays, It covers the vastness of the sky Stretching as far as the eyes can see Fighting through murky waters and narrow gaps in dungeon cells.
It rekindles our spirits, on the gloomiest day, Illuminating darkness, with bountiful promise Evoking hope, when all seems lost Simply by reminding That the sun still shines.
