The Sun Came Out and Brought Other Hot Colours With It

PupperJack gets barky

The sun came out this week and suddenly red and pink flowers appeared as if in answer to all the gold lying around the place.

And then I discovered this clivia head of buds — which will be bright orange when mature — in the bay window — what a lovely surprise!

I’ve only really rushed into the bay window over the last couple of months to throw some water around, and then rush out again. But it just gets on with things perfectly well without me.

Now there is one lot of buds on the clivia, there will be more.

Not to be outdone, my lawn is flowering profusely, too. Lots of celandines and dandelions.

I especially like the dandelions that have the flowers and the seed heads on at the same time as if illustrating their entire life cycle on one plant in one moment. They’re so perfect, too.

PupperJack had a lot to say this week about a chair that got into his house when he wasn’t looking.

It’s not right. It’s an outrage, in fact. And he can’t wait to tell you all about it in another post. (If only Susan would get on with it.)

Okay, then, PupperJack, I’ll get on to that.

He also fell out with a recycling bin. Which simply refused to answer him back . He found that barkily frustrating.

In turn, this brought up the subject of the ‘presences no human eye can see’.

You might not be able to see them. I might not be able to see them. But they’re getting ready to gang up with the recycling bin and the unexpected chair to attack. Always.

That’s the ‘presences no human eye can see’ for you.

Take a Walk in the Park Day’ was in the last week of March.

Also, Doctors’ Day.

It’s always good to appreciate parks.

And doctors — especially dogtors …

Dennett started the Photo-a-Day Challenge to help combat the pandemic blues. I’m delighted that she is continuing to do so despite Medium’s sabotage of our picture liberties.
