The Streets of San Miguel de Allende

Street Photography

My husband and I recently ventured to the Artist Village of San Miguel de Allende, and were entranced by the colors and flavors and textures of this historical town. Everywhere we looked, murals bedecked the walls. The doors were seeped in blue. Sculptures of “street art” cows unexpectedly appeared around corners.

And the art, itself, so vibrant and colorful just begged to come home with us.

This mural was tucked in behind a dress shop, adorning an ancient wall.

This lovely doorway filled with colorful lights was part of an old textile factory turned into an artists’ gallery.

Every corner we turned produced a new delight, like this tilting light fixture against the blue wall.

And, of course, what would a day in San Miguel be without a margarita. This one of the strangest, but tastiest drinks I have every had — a blackberry marguerita.

I hope you enjoyed this photo-story of our journey. A longer story, with more details, is forthcoming.
