The Sonoran Desert Offers Magical Beauty
In response to Dancing Elephants Press prompt 30 of 52

Palm trees make me happy, whether still or dancing in the wind.

Whether they are ascending tall and their bright green leaves are in stark contrast to the blue sky or just before sunrise when the sky is moody and still twilight and dark.
Or watching the moon shine on the palms in the night.

The short palms are so cute and fun, and how the sun shines through them delights my soul.

The cacti have magical qualities. Did you know it is illegal to cut down a saguaro? It is a felony crime.
Being among them makes me feel healthy and happy. Sunsets are spectacular, with the small mountains covered in various saguaros of all shapes and sizes.

There are so many varieties of cactus. Many of which bloom and flower.

I asked at the farmer’s market how to eat these beauties — the prickly pear, and it was recommended to juice them. Evidently, they are very healthy for regulating blood sugar. I have not tried them yet, but they are beautiful.

I love being in nature. I appreciate living in the Sonoran Desert. We have many beautiful birds, such as love birds — rare and colorful parrots, falcons, and owls. We also have snakes and scorpions. We have bobcats and even a few mountain lions. In the mountain region, there is even a type of monkey. Arizona is an agriculturally rich state. In fact, it produces such high-quality wheat that Italy imports it for its pasta. It is a special place I now call home.
Thank you for enjoying my first photo essay. I appreciate you. These photos were all taken on my iPhone. I also enjoy tinkering with photography on my Nikon, but it is only a fun hobby. What do you enjoy doing?
Peace & Light, Libby
