The Smoking vs Drinking Debate — Why Nobody Is Talking About This?
When it comes to the Smoking vs Drinking debate, there is something nobody is talking about.
Drinking is much worse than Smoking!
Let me explain.
The other day we gathered together with a couple of friends.
We had some drinks and some of my friends had some cigars. Nothing unusual.
At a certain point, one of them gets “illuminated” after multiple glasses of Whiskey.
The other one lighted a cigar.
And the carnage began.
The drunk guy all of a sudden started to talk trash about the guy who lighted his cigar.
All of the common stuff came up.
How bad it is for your health, how bad you smell after you smoke, how expensive it is…and so on. You get the point.
Poor guy couldn’t even say a word, he was shocked by the reaction of our friend.
After I came home, I thought about what happened.
And I realized that nobody is talking about the fact that drinking is actually much worse than smoking.
I don’t say that smoking is not harmful.
I am far from that idea.
It is unhealthy and hundreds of thousands of people are dying because of it manually.
You definitely should stop it. It’s a dependence with catastrophic and tragic consequences.
But drinking is worse.
Statistically, fewer people die because of drinking compared to smoking.
But the statistics are talking about the direct deaths.
And that’s where I have a problem.
People are looking with contempt at smokers and are talking trash about them.
But the truth is that drinking destroys more families than smoking does.
Just think about it.
When somebody smokes a cigar, nothing bad really happens.
He can still be the same funny, loving, and friendly guy he was before.
But what happens when somebody drinks too much?
He comes home to his family causing massive problems. He can be aggressive and even dangerous to his family.
We all see in the news how much domestic violence is caused by alcohol.
We can even see it in our friend groups or families sometimes.
Families are getting destroyed, not to mention the lives of the wives and children.
But even if we are looking outside the restricted circle of the family.
Drunk people are aggressive.
Harm is caused because they fight other people and send them to the hospital.
They destroy other people’s property, they are disturbing other people’s days because of the behavior they are having.
And of course, the biggest problem of them all.
A lot of people get in the car and drive drunk, causing massive accidents and ending other’s lives.
Families are being destroyed because of it. Children are dying because of it.
If we are taking into consideration all these secondary effects of drinking, there is no doubt.
Drinking is much worse than smoking. It does much more harm.
Of course, I am not saying that you can’t drink a couple of beers with your peers.
Of course not. I like enjoying a glass of Whiskey sometimes.
The problem is when you are drinking every day and you don't have limits and get drunk like a pig.
So be careful and learn austerity.
Best Wishes, Zoltan
