The Simplicity Of Humanity AKA Compassion
A Thoughtful Poem
Sympathy dwells within my modest four walls where thoughts are shared with someone somewhere across the ocean of like-mindedness
I pay tribute to aspirations created and entrusted and offer compassion to the misery of the unknown in this my virtual playground of sometimes madness
Collated credos on salvaging the world traverse continents zigzagging along wavelengths in a furious light of exchange and speed
I walk past an old crow dragging a broken leg and my heart pours with compassion for a creature, I need not necessarily heed
Equity and amity are beliefs worn on my heart forging a confluence of cosmic waves to which I adhere and bind
I observe people — normal people — unpretentiously sitting outside a cafe enjoying a late autumn suntanned on carafes of chilled white wine
And delight
My thanks go to Trisha Traughber for coming up again with a prompt which inspired me to think and create: Humanity
