Thrifty Words 100 Challenge #84: ‘Silence’

I had to travel to the USA from the Philippines. I was gone for three months due to medical issues I had to take care of there. Medicare doesn’t work overseas.

We were used to the long-distance relationship thing. We chatted on Skype for a year and a half before we met. We have been together for 12 years.

While I was gone, we chatted every day or night.

One morning I asked, “How did you sleep last night?” She replied, “I didn’t sleep. I am used to hearing your keyboard clicking through the night. Now, there’s nothing but silence.”

Many thanks to The Bad Influence group for keeping these challenges going. Like an old friend you haven’t talked to in a while, they’re still there.
