The Seamless Circle of Life
Flint & Steel Full Circle Writing Challenge

I was sipping my morning big cuppa, standing at the balcony and enjoying the nature’s conversation on a refreshing wintry morning at a small town in the state of upper Assam, India.
Snuggling my pullover and arresting warmth from my steaming mug of tea, I could see the town and the sun were lazily waking up from the blanket of haze.
Suddenly, my gaze paused at the tree in the frame. The tall, distinctive, dark bark appearance, the irregular branches, the crooked trunk, and the sight of the clear blue sky perforating the not-so-thick green foliage grabbed my attention.
The sun does not shine for a few trees and flowers, but for the wide world’s joy- Henry Ward Beecher
Time and seasons change. The length of days and nights change too.
Autumn season leads to the fall of leaves for further growth in some time.
Then you find the chill of winter is on the horizon.
Spring ushers in the bewitching beauty of nature — it is vibrance and bloom everywhere you look around.
And the summer brings the warmest months of the year including spells of wet season too.
The moon is a loyal companion. It never leaves. It’s always there, watching, steadfast, knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do. Every day it’s a different version of itself. Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light. The moon understands what it means to be human. Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections- Tahereh Mafi
I sipped, realized and appreciated, again,
# how beautiful is our universe — a beautiful creation of God — governed by winter, spring, summer and autumn seasons;
# the sun brightens up our day and the moon illuminates the night.
These move in a circle — daily, seamlessly, tirelessly, unceasingly.
No breaks, no glitches, no hiccups, no pauses, no complaints either!
Taking the last sip, I was thankful, and felt grateful for the beautiful realization and memories entwined with it.
The tree covered in my frame is popularly known as the Flame of the Forest. The blooming of its bright red-orange colored flower heralds Spring season presenting an enchanting sight.
The other common English names are Sacred tree, Bastard teak, Parrot tree, Butea gum. From a distance, it’s like seeing a brightly lit torch; hence, the name.

Loved wordsmith, Jason Edmunds’ compelling narrative about a sensitive boy and how he learns to accept himself as he is and living life to the hilt. A worthy read indeed!
This write-up is in response to Flint & Steel Full Circle Writing Challenge: Autumn 2022 published by Flint and Steel. Thanks much Ellie Jacobson for the creative space and ofcourse the inspiration.
