Most people never do this, and it’s the reason they lack guidance from inside

More people than ever feel completely lost these days. Without a clear feeling from inside, living a fulfilling life and knowing what steps to take feels like guesswork. In order to figure out your path, there is a lot you can do to support yourself on your journey. However, most people are not willing to do what it takes, and if you are one of them, this article is not for you.

How to get clues on where to go

This afternoon I sat in the park, reading a book my stepfather had given me knowing that it would help me on my journey. The author talked finding and creating a stand for yourself (something you stand for), a mission statement if you will. That got me thinking about what it means to stand for something.

How much time have you every spent thinking about what it is exactly that you stand for?

Everywhere people seem to be lost, maybe more so in this age than in any other, but nowhere people seem to sit down to question themselves. Imagine you would be a recruiter, psychologist or some other professional whose job it is to get to know you in order to help you best. Wouldn’t you ask yourself all kinds of questions, to get to know the real you that is inside? What kind of questions would you ask yourself?

“Know thyself” — Ancient Greek proverb found at the gates of the oracle of Delphi

Without knowing anything about yourself, how can you possibly expect to know where to go? The answers to these age-old struggles have been known to man for a long time, but you have to be willing to dive into it, open yourself up, and put in the effort.

“If one does not know to which port one is sailing, no wind is favorable.”

— Lucius Annaeus Seneca
