The Price of Progress

A tale of wealth and greed

Photo by Drew Murphy on Unsplash

A fancy lawyer walked into our bar — our dive bar — holding his fancy briefcase filled with people’s hopes and dreams. He pulled out some forms. Davey, our barkeep, signed them. The lawyer handed him a check. Davey’s smile grew wide. His eyes shone.

“Last call, losers. I’m off to Tahiti.”

I based this story upon:

Paul Mansfield is a writer, a photographer, a guitar player, a philosopher — some he does well, some not so well, but he still tries them all.
