The Occasional Raccoon
this spot in my bedroom the chair next to the window overlooking the yard has become my observatory where I examine squirrels birds the occasional raccoon in the massive wall of green behind the fence the trees and vines ever-encroaching set to devour the wooden barrier
this is where I sit and ponder life’s most difficult problems often solving them in my own justification of moral decency
while my fellow brothers and sisters also deemed unnecessary by the unnamed board of quarantine officials sit in their homes in their apartments in their mother-in-law’s basement and attempt to find their own way
through this stilling madness
Day #13 of quarantine. 4.2.20
