The Narcissist’s Weaknesses
A resource group to help the victims of narcissism and psychopathy
Welcome to The Narcissist’s Weaknesses!
The Narcissist’s Weaknesses is a new resource group on Facebook to help the victims of narcissism and psychopathy.
This group has been set up to help people who have been subjected to narcissistic and psychopathic abuse, and to support and help their loved ones.
The purpose of the group is to thematize the phenomena of narcissism and psychopathy and to make available important information about narcissists and psychopaths’ ways of acting and behaving.
We use two languages in the group, English and Norwegian. English is the main language, and you can choose the language you want to write in the group. Posts in Norwegian are, as a general rule, translated by the administrator from Norwegian to English. If you want to make a reservation against the administrator converting your post from Norwegian to English, you can write this at the end of the post.
The administrator will also in some cases — possibly on request — translate to Norwegian posts that were originally published in English.
The general background for creating the group is that narcissistic psychopathic behaviour is found in society and that this affects innocent people. In some cases, this results in ruined lives for victims.
The group is now (September 2021) in the start phase. The administrator will work to create a structure and set an agenda that allows visitors and members of the group to find the help they may be looking for.
The group is created as an open (public) group, but can later be converted to a private group.
We will initially focus on what narcissism and psychopathy are, and what is not narcissism and psychopathy. It is important to be critical of our use of the term of narcissism and psychopathy.
According to science, we can all have narcissistic traits, and we can all also have psychopathic impulses that cause us to let irritation or anger spread over others near us.
It is wrong to call people narcissists or psychopaths just because of a single episode or a simple trait in personality or behaviour that we recognize from the descriptions of narcissists and psychopaths.
On the whole, we must be very careful about characterizing individuals and fellow human beings as one or the other. Probably less than 1% of the population qualifies for the characteristic narcissistic person or for the characteristic psychopath.
Posts are from now on welcomed!
- We expect and demand respectful behavior from everyone who writes in the group.
- Group rules will be prepared and published in the near future.
Norwegian text in a separate post here.
This initiative is taken by a person who is not professionally trained in health sciences. My background for doing this is things that I have experienced and seen when it comes to some individuals’ careless behavior towards healthy, normal, and sometimes gullible people.
Thank you for reading! If you like, you are welcome to share and join the group.
