The Most Common Form of Insider Trading

So this dream is narrated by an American, I’m assuming Matt Levine because he generally talks about this kind of stuff, it starts off with the information that a dirty little secret in the financial world is that most insider trading happens when you have a friend at the SEC and is completely legal!
Then we see our protagonists of the film, two ethnic Indian (Indian subcontinent) traders are going to the SEC, they are talking and do not have accents so they may be genetically Indian but American citizens I suppose. This whole thing makes me wonder, is my Dream mind revealing racism or is it being more diverse in casting so it’s a good thing? At any rate they are going to meet a friend of one of them at the SEC and the one who knows the person also seems to be in charge (like he has a mentor relationship with a junior trader it seems.) He is telling the other one what to do and how to behave.
The get to the SEC building which is a fancy office building in downtown Manhattan according to the Dream (I believe I have mentioned before how my Dreaming mind just makes things up and evidently not knowing anything about what it dreams about does not stop it from dreaming about it), so I mean I don’t know if the SEC building is a fancy office building in downtown Manhattan — but, wait, let me look it up — well they have a regional office in New York https://www.sec.gov/regional-office/new-york hmm, I think it’s this one

Which I guess is supposed to be the real SEC headquarters, still pretty good job Dreaming mind on scouting a suitable location for the action to take place at.
Inside they have to sign in, and fill out a form that allows them to insider trade on information received in the meeting without legal repercussions (as explained by Dream Matt Levine) — anyway I’m pretty sure that isn’t true, otherwise everyone would do that.
There is a digression in the narration at this point explaining the scam, you tell the SEC things that is useful for the SEC to know, the SEC in these meetings may tell you things in trying to figure out what you are telling them means, and in this way you have information that is for some reason ok to use and not be charged with insider trading — because you helped the SEC do its job? At any rate this is how having a friend at the SEC helps you insider trade legally.
At this point I woke up because it was morning. I have the feeling the dream was going to move in the direction of being a thriller, maybe because I have been watching some Mission Impossible movies recently.
