The Love Bomb Experiments

Have you tried it?

Rhea and Mason, who had been married for twelve years, invited their new friend Solano to lunch. Solano was not like everyone else. At times Solano seemed very wise and spiritual and at other times he just seemed eccentric. Either way he was always upbeat, loving and funny. Conversations with him were never dull — or normal. No matter how whacko his ideas were they were always entertaining and thought-provoking.

After placing their order with the waiter Rhea looked at Solano, “So you got any crazy ideas you want to share? Whatchya been thinking about lately?”

Solano looked off into space for a moment then spoke, “Well, actually I have been experimenting with something lately. I call it a love bomb.”

After a brief silence Mason inquired, “Love bomb? Is that like some kind of orgy thing or something?”

“What? No. Gosh no. I’m not talking about human concepts of love like romantic love or sexual love or familial or sibling love or any mental or emotional concepts of love. I’m talking about Universal unconditional love; the very stuff the Universe is made of, the energy behind all existence.”

“You see, this energy is flowing through us all the time and as it does so we can utilize it and direction it. Healers can utilize this energy to heal. As the energy flows into them they channel the energy down through their arms and out of their hands. That’s what laying on of hands healing is.”

“So anyway, I figured if healers can do that there surely are other ways to use this energy. That’s when I came up with the idea of love bombs. So in a meditative state in which I clear my mind of thoughts and move my attention from the noggin to the heart, I gather that energy into a ball; kind of like a cannon ball — except it’s not black but rather made up of pure light. I feel that energy forming a ball in my heart. I put more and more and more Universal love energy into it. When the ball gets as full of the energy as I can put into it I then use my heart like a cannon and shoot the ball out of my heart into whatever space I am facing.”

Speechless, Rhea and Mason looked at each other then back at Solano.

Solano continued, “Now you can throw a baseball out in front of you but that’s a physical object so it’s influenced by gravity and other sciencey stuff and it will eventually fall to the ground. But Universal love energy is not physical so it should keep going in the direction you shoot it into, right? So I decided to experiment. I shot a love bomb towards the east to see if it would go all the way around the planet and come back to me…”

“And sure enough it did. Four and a half days later I was walking down West Third Street when the bomb came out of the west and hit me head on. It was undeniably the very love bomb that I shot off towards the east. It was like being hit by a very strong gust of wind except there was no wind. It was just energy and I could feel that it was the very love bomb that I shot out of my heart. It sort of had my signature on it or something.”

Rhea and Mason remained speechless.

“Anyway, it was truly awesome to be hit by the love bomb. I was so overcome with joy. But I also had questions. The love bomb went around the planet instead of shooting off into space so maybe gravity does come into play — or at least some kind of force. So I kept shooting off a love bomb every day and in a different direction each day.”

“And from the opposite direction the love bomb always came right back to me. I kept track of when I shot the love bombs and when they came back. The Earth is a round ball so it should take the same amount of time for the love bomb to circle it, right? But that’s not the case. The length of time varies between three and five days. “I did find out that when I shoot a love bomb to the east it always comes back faster than when I shoot one to the west. Maybe that’s because of the direction the Earth is rotating. I don’t know. Other directions vary quite a bit as well.”

“I’m also experimenting now with love bombs that I don’t shoot out but rather simply place in a certain location so it doesn’t move. I placed one in the middle of the mall five days ago and when I went back yesterday it was still there — although its intensity has diminished somewhat.”

Just then the salads arrived.

A short silence ensued before Solano continued, “So anyway, I’m really excited by my love bomb experiments. I need to make sure I’m not totally bonkers, though. Can I ask you guys to try sending a love bomb, too, and then report to me what happens?”

“Sure,” said Rhea.

With a mouthful of salad, Mason nodded his head affirmatively.

The next morning while Mason was in the shower Rhea went out into the back yard and shot a love bomb off into the east. On Sunday, four days later, Mason and Rhea were on their Sunday hike along the local nature trail when a blast of energy suddenly waved over them.

Mason looked around then at Rhea, “What the hell was that? Did you feel it?”

“I sure did,” replied Rhea as a huge smile lit up her face. “It was the love bomb I shot four days ago.”

“No fucking way! No way. You actually did that?”

“I sure did. We agreed we would. Didn’t you do it?”

“Well… uh… no. Honestly, I thought it was a bit of a whacko idea. I really had no intention of doing a silly thing like that.”

“Well you just felt my love bomb. Maybe you should consider trying it yourself.”

Mason kept looking around him as though trying to catch a glimpse of the bomb. Then he looked at Rhea, “Maybe I should.”

Mason and Rhea then held hands and continued walking down the path, Universal love energy coursing back and forth between them.
