the long view
a poem

Does your past follow you? (That breath you feel, the footsteps behind you, of a thousand different memories, a hundred colourful lives) Or can you let it go? (A handful of sand on the wind, leaves raining from autumn trees, Scattering sounds down an alleyway, Wisps of clouds blowing out to sea)
And you move on… Wings spread, Air lifting your spirits. Far from the memories Plaguing you, holding you back.
To a place (glistening green jewels in a shining sea of blue, forests of birch that wander to the sea, red granite roads winding through your lover’s heart) A face (heart melting, fluttering, burning a profile strong, bold, kind eyes burning with desire, clear blue)
The long view ahead; a bright view, an uplifting outlook, positive potential memories yet to be formed two joined together. Minds. Bodies. Souls.
