The Logic Of Thought
Most of us worry about things we don’t want to happen to us, but unfortunately, that’s what we get out of life.🙄
Thought is powerful, and it does create feelings that send out energy. Generally, energy will go where attention is concentrated or directed. If you constantly fret about a particular issue, you are unknowingly directing energy to it, and it will soon manifest. This means, in essence, that what you get in life is the result of the quality of your thoughts and the direction they go.
If this is true, it means we can consciously direct our good thoughts toward those things we desire in life. It does not matter how we feel or what is happening around us; that does not negate what we desire. What we want to do is create a positive atmosphere, and hence thoughts, and direct them to those things we want or desire.
By doing so, we tend to ‘ignore’ (not pay attention to) the negatives but only concentrate on the positives. It depends on how we want to look at life.
‘’We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses.’’ Abraham Lincoln
Thus, we attract what we feel into our lives. If we are feeling elated, successful, and healthy, as winners, that is what is going to manifest in our lives simply because that is where we direct our energies. How do we do that?
Let Us Incorporate Appreciation and Gratitude Into Our Lives.
Cultivating a life of gratitude and appreciation set us up for more positive outcomes in life. This is because, no matter how bad a situation is, there will be something to be grateful for. In essence, we will always look out for those things that are worthy of our gratitude, which in itself is positive energy.
Anybody And Everybody Has The Opportunity
I am sure we have heard before that everybody has an opportunity. This is because life presents itself to us as a blank canvas, we decide what we want to write on it. We know that most of what is going on in the greater world is outside our control, but we have the power to influence how we react to issues of the world that concern us, that is positively or negatively.
I remembered my Scottish friend that came to Nigeria on a visit a few years before my relocation. We were walking along with a busy market, and suddenly in from of him, a woman yam seller, with about 10 tubers on her head, and also carrying a baby on her back, stopped suddenly in front of a street music player to dance, with a wonderful acrobatic display.
My friend wanted us to stop and watch her. Later, he told me he was initially full of pity for the lady, thinking about the tubers on her head, and a baby on her back, yet she was happy enough to dance so joyfully to the street music. ‘Lanu’, he said, ‘this lady is a lot happier than me.’ He reminded me of this quote:
‘Happiness is not in things, it is in us’ Richard Wagner
Although physical life provides us with a blank canvas, we can use our creative energy to drive our thoughts into what we want, in the capacity that we are able to. But we must first know what we want and sincerely desire it.
What we want and what we believe have a lot to do with our mindset. Some people believe that having a lot of money (i.e., being rich) is evil. None of such people will ever be rich, because, no matter what opportunity is presented to them, their mindset about money will counteract it.
We must balance our conscious and subconscious thoughts in order to constantly appreciate life as a good experience. Our conscious and subconscious selves must be in harmony with one another. This is because all thoughts carry some form of energy vibration.
Let us, therefore, clean the garden of our hearts by ensuring our thoughts have positive vibrational energy.
The Takeaways
- “Over the years, I have come to realize that the greatest trap in our lives is not success, popularity, or power, but self-rejection.’’ Henri J. M.Nouwen
- “The subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between a penny and a million dollars. It does not know the difference between success and failure, and it’ll work just as hard to make a failure out of you as it will to make a success out of you if you don’t condition your mind to keep the subconscious mind working with and for the things you want and away from the things you don’t want.” Napoleon Hill
- ‘Positive thoughts generate positive feelings and attract positive life experiences’ Mae West
- ‘Whatever we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become a reality.’ Earl Nightingale
