Summary

The Jussie Smollett case is presented as an example of systemic racism within the judicial system, with the author arguing that the media and law enforcement exaggerated the incident to undermine the Black community.

Abstract

The article discusses the Jussie Smollett case as a manifestation of racial bias in the media and judicial system. It suggests that the case, which has been widely publicized, was used by white supremacists to perpetuate a narrative of Black culpability, despite the incident being inconsequential. The author asserts that the Chicago Police Department and white media inflated the importance of the case to distract from systemic racism and the lack of accountability for white supremacists' actions. The article also touches on the broader context of racial injustice, where false police reports against Black individuals often go uncharged due to racism, and contrasts this with the intense scrutiny and punishment faced by Jussie Smollett.

Opinions

  • The author believes that the Jussie Smollett case was blown out of proportion by the white media and the Chicago Police Department as a tactic to discredit the Black community.
  • It is argued that Smollett was not a significant figure in the Black community prior to the incident, and the attention given to his case was disproportionate and racially motivated.
  • The article suggests that the Chicago Police Department's aggressive pursuit of the case against Smollett was an attempt to compensate for the impunity with which white supremacists lie and harm Black people without facing legal consequences.
  • The author implies that the judicial system is inherently racist, as evidenced by the differential treatment of Smollett compared to white supremacists who commit similar or worse offenses without facing jail time.
  • The piece criticizes white America's silence on reparations and selective financial support for other groups while ignoring the historical contributions of Black Americans.
  • The author expresses a personal stance against racism and supports the idea of reparations, indicating a commitment to social justice and racial equality.

UNFAIR TACTICS

The Jussie Smollett Case Exposes Racism Within the Judicial System

We’ve seen countless horrendous acts made by white supremacists – no jail time whatsoever

After over three years of chaos and controversy, the Jussie Smollett case has finally come to an end.

Now I’m not going to go into detail and bring up past context about what this whole fiasco was this whole fraud – and the fraud was more than what Jussie Smollett was accused of, it was what the white media and the racist forces behind it that were trying to make it into.

The whole Jussie situation was absolutely nothing. It was nothing to it. It’s not important at all any more than the second trial of O.J. Simpson out in Las Vegas was.

The white supremacists, on the other hand, need us to think that it was.

Because they’re trying to tell us that they somehow handed us an “L” when they didn’t.

This entire thing was nothing more than a white media invention.

They were the ones who decided that they wanted to try to make a big deal out of it.

Jussie Smollett wasn’t somebody that the Black community holds up on a pedestal; we didn’t even know who he was before three years ago.

Most definitely me, cause I never watched the show Empire.

This was not somebody who Black people were holding up as a man who had done wrong by the powers that be.

The only reason that anybody felt that it was noteworthy to talk about is that because everybody recognized it exactly what it was.

This was racial railroading being carried out by the white supremacists in the Chicago Police Department and everybody recognized that.

They were taking something that was completely, thoroughly inconsequential and they were trying to use Jussie Smollett as a proxy for the Black community.

They were basically holding him up as a whipping boy.

Now, why was the Chicago P.D., in particular, was all hot and bothered about going after Jussie Smollett?

It’s because they desperately needed a win.

The white supremacists don’t take losses very well, ladies and gentlemen.

White supremacists constantly lie on Black people and kill them with impunity by filling these false police reports — they almost always never get charged.

Why?

Because of RACISM.
