Thanks to Rebecca Fulton Rendon for interviewing me on The Mamalorian Way.

The Ins and Outs of Writing on Medium

My video-interview about writing on Medium.com by The Mamalorian Way

I was honored last week to be interviewed on The Mamalorian Way about writing, and about being a “top writer” on medium.com.

My dear friend, Rebecca Fulton Rendon, has a great YouTube channel called The Mamalorian Way where she shares all sorts of tips about money, entrepreneurship and life from the eyes of a mother and wife.

She wanted to know a little more about medium.com and how it all worked. We talked about the wonderful tribe of writers I’ve met here, about how consistency in any creative endeavor helps you to grow and about how to get started in making connections and gaining readers on the platform.

I’ve been writing on medium for a little over three years now and I have found that the practice of regularly writing and sharing my poems, stories and photos about nature, science, travel, yoga, photography and Eastern philosophy has helped me to grow exponentially as a writer.

For years, I was part of a small “critique group,” but my work never went much further than the four walls of my mentor’s living room.

Any writer will tell you that there is not much in the creative life that is more meaningful than to know that you have touched someone else with your words.

I’ve felt so fortunate to find that “connection” with readers here, on medium.

I remember when I started out on this platform. I was so thrilled to have just a handful of followers, outside of my family, who actually wanted to read my pieces. And then, when people began to highlight and comment on my stories and poems, I was over the moon.

Today, I am so grateful to all of the other amazing writers whom I regularly read and who are gracious enough to read my work, and to all of my “followers.” You inspire me to keep writing and sharing and to stay “connected.” Thank you!

And thank you to Rebecca for wanting to interview me as well. I think you might really enjoy checking out some of her other videos.
