The Inner Voice

Trapped in the worldliness of the world,

lost in a compelling and fervent fling

her soul dour, meandering helplessly,

gasping at the pretentiousness

where external validation was the thing.

She knew her mind and soul were at loggerheads,

in an eternal external vs internal struggle,

but what else could she do, other than juggle

between her inner voice and the voice of the world?

The overbearing conscious mind with its wings furled,

shooed the subconscious mind into the corner; curled

After years together, did she find and learn the secret of life,

Not to have just an existential experience;

But to give the soul illumination

To be freed from expecting expectations

The mind and soul in synchronization;

A purpose,

A meaning

A sense of the greater good;

The inner voice strong and steady

wearing an armor of resilience,

shining in it’s brilliance!

Not being obscured in the oblivion;

Paying more heed to her intuition,

to consciousness,

Did she find true exhilaration, elation

and contentedness.
