The Hook

You can’t get the hook out. You are being reeled towards the terrifying kraken.

You go under, feeling your lungs with water, then black out for a moment.

When you awake, you’re on the lake’s edge. There is no sign of the demoness… or the kraken.

An elf-like being stands, watching you closely. “Great lord Krakatoa healed you,” it cries. “Now, run to the mountains, before that demoness returns!”

You nod, then stand and flee. Before long you’re heading uphill through trees, on a stony mountain path.

Your lungs are heaving, but you feel safer than you have in hours…
