The Global Reset and Post Capitalism
What is the Global Reset?
From 2020 we heard about new post-capitalism trends, terms, and developments. So, people around the world triggered such a big amount of suppositions and conspiracies that a powerful elite has the plan to instate a world order by enslaving all of us under one authoritarian rule. Supposed secret agendas and malicious intent capitalize all the general public discourse making it hard to pin out the real deal around “The Global Reset”. But with all the veil, post-capitalism means that corporations should no longer focus solely on serving shareholders but become custodians of society at large. Also, many agree that the recent events have exposed the flaws of economic policies, austerity mechanisms, and a world geared to efficiency instead of resilience and sustainability. It was absolutely time for global forces to nurture something.
HRH the Prince of Wales used the short-lived hashtag #ReimagineReset for the first time and later in an exceedingly paper of the World Economic Forum it was coined in a proposition “to start the ‘Great Reset’ project” to rebuild our planet. Is not just an invention, a metaphor, a question of interpretation, or a matter of perspective illusion. As traditional institutions have failed to manage all the recent crises, there is a risk that everything could deepen and leave the world even less sustainable, less equal, and more fragile. The global reset implies the design of new institutional policies that transform markets towards better outcomes, incentivize investments towards “shared goals”, build and sustain greener infrastructures, and harness the momentum of the digital revolution. This global society which after the nineteen sixties was governed by unifying “collectivism”, with a typical doctrine defined by the pejorative term “paradigm”, a doctrine that disregards the concept of truth but can be wrapped around any frivolous concept has now the possibility of new growth. It had been the whole twentieth century traveling into an intellectual abyss thanks to the purposeful decimation of culture, science, and education. “Global reset”, as opposed to “restart”, has no turning back to the expected “old normal”. In partnership with Big Digital companies, the Great Global Reset is now being accelerated.
A society described by the term “postcapitalism” actually means giving corporations more power and democratic institutions less. What? Yes seems initially fuzzy but the world today is staunchly brainwashed, by the mostly privately owned media, into ignoring all that matters. They have no intention of enlightening the multitude. In practice, this plan will give more roles to private conglomerate companies in global decision-making. When many citizens will see through the lies and deception, at some unspecified time, they might make a difference. Precisely what this concept means in practice nobody knows. Maybe a world in which fusions of the internet of things and post-capitalism give reason to fears or hopes of total global surveillance. But no evidence can be compared in its general significance, definitiveness, laconism, and rigor. It remains to be seen if these pontificates change the minds of the whole system. This lack of clarity envisions that if corporations are multinational, the state essentially becomes globalist, whether or not a one-world government is clearly formalized. If successful, this would constitute a full advance over decision-making that would threaten human autonomy and undermine free will. The Global Reset promises inclusion but at the same time more isolation.
People fairly are concerned that these corporations have the ability to push their own personal agendas and not even think about social responsibility. They may use their power to punish into submission anyone unwilling to get on board. However, instead of taking the more difficult road, citizens must understand what is almost true and not just lie back and listen to the canned propaganda or big conspiracies pouring out everywhere. Again, there is a stark choice between a call to encourage people to participate in a very sustainable future or a sneaky plot against humanity. Opportunism is not foreign to a large enough number of individuals, who may go against any principles, ready to go even against themselves for some coins. This fragility of human nature sometimes even despair is known well by some circles and they exploit it to the fullest. Historically, ideas for a fairer society have always gained many supporters independent of the real intentions of those speaking about them. Adding the “green” or ”sustainability” component comes to supplement the “fair” idea, intended for a youth who has not seen the ills of war, is pampered and consumer-oriented, which, not in need of only striving to survive, was left alone to develop its natural instincts. Unfortunately, this youth in the West has never in history been better fed, better clothed, and better entertained. All of this makes them in the current post-capitalism more aware of surrounding natural phenomena, which are usually taken for granted, as well as, sadly, falling easy prey to manipulations. Therefore putting the existing capitalism in order, and curbing its greed must be our task for years to come. Until the times when the super-concentration of wealth in a vanishingly small number of individuals is not addressed, the suffering of the world will not cease, no matter how mighty a country may be or how responsible its ruler has pronounced himself or a Global Reset has been planned and accomplished.
