FICTION | FLASH FICTION | 100 STORY CHALLENGE | DRABBLE | THE FICTION WRITER’S DEN
The End Times
My partner discovered my secret stash…
Everything changed when my partner discovered that I’d been hoarding canned goods and other necessities. I don’t know what the big deal was. I tried to explain that I was preparing for the inevitable. But she wasn’t buying it.
Or she didn’t want to anyway. She always got on me about my neighborhood meetings. We were just discussing post-apocalyptic preparation, it was harmless.
She just didn’t get it. The end times were coming, she needed to get on board, or she was going to be left out in the cold.
We’ll see if I let her into my bunker.
This 33rd drabble is written as part of the “100 Story Challenge” by @Zane Dickens.
This prompt is from Writing Prompts as the Seasons Turn (Idea 1) by JF Danskin in The Fiction Writer’s Den.
Prompt: Begin a piece of flash fiction with the line: “Everything changed when my partner discovered (activity).” You can choose the activity, the kind of partner involved, and what exactly changed!
Rather than have a bunch of stories about snow, let’s expand the concept a little to changes and shifts…
