The “Deluded Custodians One Year Anniversary Fiesta”: Casting Call
to be filmed en Calzoncillos, Nevada
It was the first day of summer, June 22, 2022. In “The Pub”, our group rose from the ashes of medium.responses to challenge “The Pioneers”, Kristen Stark, Evon, Scott Younkin, and Carlos Garbiras.
Cristina Cattai bravely went where no cat-loving, poem-writing mum has gone before, taking me by the the hand and flinging me into medium.oblivion. With the sublime guidance of our friend, Flavio Musa de Freitas Guimarães, we created the “Diluted Guardians” which didn’t make any sense at all, so we went with “Deluded Custodians” in honor of Mike Knittel, the original deluded custodian currently living in Florida and writing his memoirs.

Second, answer the prompts posted in The Pub at the beginning of each month. Challenges have included: Alliteration, poetry, personal essays, the soundtrack of your novel, and an investigation into missing mediums and turtles. The challenge for June is “stuck.”
Regarding the Centennial Park Sani-Hut as a venue for our celebration/casting call: The only other cinema in Calzoncillos, the Fandango, is unavailable due to a mud slide last week. We will be filming the grand entrance of the deluded custodians at the fútbol/baseball field, safe from flooding, hail, lightning strikes, snow storms, dust devils, and high winds 🙏on Friday, June 30, at 8:00 a.m.
We will attempt to put the real Calzoncillos on the map as an authentic filming location. It has been misrepresented in many movies.
In “Shanghai Noon”, (filmed near Calgary, Alberta — 1,000 miles north of Calzoncillos), Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson rode into Carson City.
In “Con Air”, John Malkovich and lifers took over the JailBird flight at the Carson City Airport during a sandstorm (Scene filmed at Ogden Hinckley Airport, Utah, 500 miles east of Cartoon City.)
The opening scene in “Showgirls” is filmed in Carson City. Elizabeth Berkley is hitchhiking in front of the strip mall that got a face lift from the revenue earned from this movie. Las Vegas is 430 miles south of Carson City. She’s heading north to Reno.
