The Dark Red Door
A world all its own
Secrets made within the night Witnessed by the candlelight Passion’s flame will soon ignite Behind the dark red door
Money passed from hand to hand Men in suits worth twenty grand Life and death are quickly planned Beyond the dark red door
Goods exchanged in seconds flat Hook the kids and bureaucrat Give then this, then sell them that Beside the dark red door
Broken glass and putrid stains Reused needles in the drains Clustered waste is what remains Beneath the dark red door
It’s a world that rules its own A thousand kings upon its throne A place that chills you to the bone Beware the dark red door
Thank you Amy Marley for talking about this awesome challenge. I don’t know why I feel compelled to keep going, but I do and it’s been awesome. I haven’t felt this kind of drive in my writing in some time.
