Drabble is a work of fiction that is exactly 100 words. No more, no less.
Lila had been an actor for ten years, content with supporting roles in indie projects that had small but passionate audiences. The fanfare of Hollywood never really appealed to her.
But a starring role in an independent film that garnered critical acclaim catapulted Lila into stardom, turning her into a household name overnight. These days, there was nowhere for her to go without getting recognized.
It would be foolish to not feel grateful for a life-altering experience, Lila thought. At the same time, she couldn’t escape the loneliness and would trade anything to reclaim her anonymity and quiet life.
