The Brutal Murder of Bianca Devins on Social Media
Her throat was slit and the photos were immediately uploaded to Instagram, 4chan, and Discord

In 2019, Bianca Devins was a troubled 17-year-old girl from Utica, New York. She was estranged from her father and diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. With her disorder, she had difficulty making friends.
Although troubled, Devins did have her hobbies. These included a deep interest in anime, manga, and playing Minecraft. She also loved the color pink and was very much into emo fashion. She did not hesitate to dye her hair pink, wear dramatic eyeliner and dress the part. She would then post webcam selfies of herself on social media.
Devins posted messages and photos on Instagram, Discord, and the internet message board, 4chan. She posted about anime and emo fashion and very soon had 3000 followers. On Instagram, she posted about mental health and borderline personality disorder.
In addition to her hobbies on social media, Devins earned her high school diploma by home tutoring. She was getting ready to attend Mohawk Valley Community College in the fall of 2019 and major in Psychology.
However, before she could start college, the unthinkable happened. On July 13, 2019, Devins was murdered by her friend Brandon Clark.
Meeting Brandon Clark
Brandon Clark was 21 years old when he met Devins. He had an unstable family background. He grew up in foster care because his father was abusive and domestic violence was the norm in the household.
Clark had similar interests to Devins. He was obsessed with Pokemon and lolicon. He met Devins online by introducing himself to her on Discord. After chatting, he insisted on meeting her in real life.
They met in person and Devins even introduced him to her mother. Devins’ mother actually liked him saying, “He seemed like a very nice kid. He was very polite.”
Soon Clark started coming over to Devins’ house on a regular basis. They became friends and he even attended her high school graduation.
It was obvious that Clark liked Devins romantically. He would refer to himself as her boyfriend and he was obsessed with her on social media. He saved her photos, kept tabs on her social media activities, and sent her messages.
According to Devins’ family, the romantic feelings were not reciprocated. To Devins, he was a platonic friend and she did not wish to date him.

The murder of Bianca Devins
On July 13, 2019, Devins was excited about two reasons. First, she was going to a concert by gothic singer Nicole Dollanganger. Second, she was going to meet a new boy, Alex, at the concert. She had met Alex on Discord and they would be meeting in real life for the first time. Devins would not be going alone to the concert. Clark would accompany her.
Devins was naturally excited about the concert. She tried on different outfits and finally settled on wearing a black tank top and a plaid skirt. Devins and Clark then left for the concert in Clark’s car where they would meet up with Alex.
At the concert, Devins and Alex both got along well together. They held hands and kissed. Clark was enraged with jealousy upon seeing their behavior. Noting his rage, Devins sent a message to a friend on her Discord server that Clark was “so mad.”
At 10:00 pm, Devins and Clark decided to return home. On the drive back, Clark confronted Devins about her kiss with Alex. He stopped the car in a deserted and wooded area and argued with Devins. The argument led to Clark assaulting Devins. He then took a knife that he had hidden in his car and sliced her throat.
After the murder, Clark took a grisly photo of Devins’ corpse and posted it on Instagram, Discord, and 4chan. He posted 3 different photos showing Devins in his car with the slit in her throat and blood splattered all over her black tank top.
Devins was murdered between 5:47 am and 6:40 am. At 5:47 am, she was alive and had messaged a friend but at 6:40 am, she was dead and the images of her corpse were posted to Clarks’s social media profiles.
Clark’s online followers were stunned at the images. Multiple calls were made to the police about the photos. A follower on Snapchat found Clark’s location on Snapmaps and informed the police. Clark himself ended up calling the police to say,
“My name is Brandon, the victim is Bianca Michelle Devins, I’m not going to stay on the phone for long, because I still need to do the suicide part of the murder-suicide.”
Clark intended to kill himself. He slashed his own throat and took selfies of himself with Devins’ body. He also took a video of the murder which was confiscated by the police. The police arrested Clark and he was taken to a hospital to undergo emergency surgery for his self-inflicted injuries. He recovered and was charged with second-degree murder.
Conclusion
Social media wasn’t kind to Devins after photos of her corpse were posted online by her murderer. On 4chan, some users were joking about it and blaming her for getting killed. On Instagram, the photos were allowed to circulate for several hours.
Eventually, Instagram and Facebook did remove Clark’s account. Clark’s Discord server was also shut down.
Unfortunately, images of Devins’ corpse can still be found online. The photos have been modified to escape detection.
On March 16, 2021, Clark was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison. According to authorities, he had pre-planned the murder as his internet history revealed that he researched how to kill a person by cutting the carotid artery in the neck. He also had the knife ready in his car to stab Devins.
The authorities believe that Clark and Devins did have an intimate and sexual relationship but Devins was not ready to commit to him in a monogamous relationship. Clark murdered her in a jealous rage.
In Devins’ memory, her family has established the Bianca Michelle Devins Memorial Scholarship Fund for students who wish to become psychology majors.
