A writing prompt about mother nature. Yippee! Thank you, Dr. Preeti Singh

Bike rides

I cannot resist spilling the beans about everything I adore about nature, mostly Old English Sheepdogs, forests, and living in Scotland.

The photo above is one of the many bikes rides my husband and I enjoyed together, albeit he usually rides way up in front of me as my little legs can’t keep up.

Sometimes as we cycle along the coastal path, we spot seals and dolphins. One time, we came across a washed-up whale.

Old English Sheepdogs

Introducing, my beloved dog Bobby, affectionately named after my late father. Bobby is my best friend and loyal companion. When I give him a big bear hug he tries to return the love by making noises and giving me his paw. So cute

As a small child, I loved big shaggy, goofy dogs. This breed is called an Old English Sheepdog. I begged and begged for one of these dogs as a child. It wasn’t until my father passed away that I bought my first one called Tatty, born on the same day, a year after my father died.

Tatty had ten beautiful puppies that looked like little teddy bears. Sadly, we lost her about two years later, so Bobby, her son is a very special addition to our family.

He is a whole bunch of fun, mud, and laughter. We call him many names, such as Mr. Stinks, Mittens, Rude Dog, Bob Bobs, and Mitz Bobs.

Scotland

Our home is on a hill surrounded by fields and trees. The baby lambs arrive in the spring season. Bobby is desperate to chase, so we have to keep everything fenced in.

There are beautiful forests in Scotland. Nothing quite exhilarates me as much as a crisp, sunny morning run or walk. Bobby loves the forests as much as I do; he enjoys dipping his paws in the ditches or rolling himself in something unmentionable (usually after his expensive groom) -YUP

I enjoy admiring little things like pine cones or patches of fungus.

My favorite time is September/October; the mushrooms grow abundantly in Aberdeenshire, and foraging for Chanterelle mushrooms in the forests is one of my favorite things to do. There is a feeling of delight when I discover a large patch. Some places are tricky to reach, pushing through dense trees to pick the mushrooms.

Below is a little reel of my basket after foraging in the forest.

I hope you enjoyed reading all the things I love, there are so many more. I look forward to reading about all the things about nature you love too.

Janin Lyndovsky always has a way of making great connections.

Enjoy this cute little poem with a morning coffee by NancyO I like to let myself out in the mornings for a sniff of fresh air, never mind the dog.

Love to you all from Bobby (posing with some beautiful lily flowers)
