Yes, the best book for you is the one you read at the right time.

When I pick up a book from a store or audiobook from the app, I get so irritated when the book that I chose doesn’t suit me at that moment. It doesn’t make sense for me in that stage in life. It seems that the book had been written to different people at all. After that, I started to consider the book as a bad one. Then I realize that it’s just no the right time.

Sometimes, friends will suggest a book to you, or the cover catches your eye as you walk by the endcap in your favorite bookstore. A book will come across your path right when you are ready to meet it when the wisdom within its pages speaks to a particular problem you’re struggling to solve.

The feeling good when you are open to learning something new and ready to take it in and implement its wisdom into your life. I feel blessed for books that find me at just the right time and spell out ways to simplify my life and underscore my values.

The Power of Now: A Guide To Spiritual Enlightenment, by Eckhard Tolle, is the book that found me just when I needed it.

I’ve tried to keep all its wisdom and apply every day.

I revisit at least once a year to remind me of what is essential for living my best life. It taught me a lot of things like all the problems are an illusion of our minds and realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have.

When you accept what is, every moment is the best moment. That is enlightenment.

Many of us spend our time either trapped in the regret-filled past or anxious about a future we can’t hope to control.

Simultaneously, we also cling to the hope that we can somehow improve our lives, become happier, even though we have no clear idea of how to do so.

By Focusing Only On The Present And Ignoring The Past or Future You Can Greatly Improve Your Life

“When you are fully present and people around you manifest unconscious behavior, you won’t feel the need to react to it, so you don’t give it any reality. Your peace is so vast and deep that anything that is not peace disappears into it as if it had never existed. This breaks the karmic cycle of action and reaction.”― Eckhart Tolle

It’s a truth that we tend to live in the past and in the future. One moment we’re reminiscing or regretting, the next we’re planning or worrying. Meanwhile, we neglect the one moment that’s is fully available to us: Now.

Only the present is important because nothing ever occurs in the past or future; things happen only in a continuous stream of present moments.

Indeed, what we call “the past” is really a collection of one-present moments that have passed. Likewise, “the future” is made up of present moments that have yet to arrive.

So, there are no advantages to worrying about the future or dwelling in the past, but there are many to living “ in the now.” If you manage to achieve that, you’ll experience no major problems, just small ones that can be dealt with they arise.

The “Ego” Is Part Of Your Mind That Stops You From Being Happy

“The word enlightenment conjures up the idea of some superhuman accomplishment, and the ego likes to keep it that way, but it is simply your natural state of felt oneness with Being. It is a state of connectedness with something immeasurable and indestructible, something that, almost paradoxically, is essentially you and yet is much greater than you. It is finding your true nature beyond name and form.”― Eckhart Tolle

Have you ever wondered why some people seem to sabotage themselves? or,

Why, though nobody wants to be miserable, so many people are unhappy?

The reason is The Ego.

A part of your mind that controls your thoughts and behavior without you noticing. Since it can’t easily be observed, most people don’t know the extent to which the ego controls their life.

The ego leads you into situations of conflict with others and makes you unhappy with your current situation so that it can gain control over your behavior and thinking.

“You can value and care for things, but whenever you get attached to them, you will know it’s the ego” — Eckhart Tolle

If you later reflect on a dispute you had with someone, you may notice that you overreacted. Yet in the thick of the dispute, you simply weren’t aware of anything influencing and controlling your thinking and behavior.

why does the ego do this?

It depends on your misery for its continued existence, so it obstructs happiness at every turn, acting against your own best interests.

The ego is a destructive part of the human mind. Be careful with this, It wants to be the most important part of you and knows no limits, so if you let it gain control, it will bring you much suffering.

Finally, as I said, if you find this book at the right time in your life, it will help you a lot to live focus in the present. Stop clinging to the past and stop fearing the future. You will see how dramatically your life will improve.
