The Best Things In Life Are Free
For Instance? My Neighbor’s Landscaping

I am a walker and I am into gratitude. I mostly walk around my suburban Philadelphia neighborhood, which contains everything from modest homes like mine to spectacular mansions.
The one thing that almost all of these homes have in common? An abundance of beautiful flowers. People around here take landscaping seriously.
By mid June every home is adorned with eye-grabbing blossoming plants. A lot of thought and effort goes into these displays.
Sometimes they’re so engaging that I have no choice but to literally stop and smell the roses.
The fact that this fabulous outpouring of time and money and effort and creativity results in something that anyone can enjoy, just by taking a stroll, is something that I remain grateful for.
Right now it’s Spectacular Hydrangea season.

My neighborhood is full of them, in a wide variety of colors and sizes. Hydrangeas happen to be my favorite flower and this week I’ve been wandering around just drinking in the sight of them all.
It’s all beautiful. And it’s all free. And it makes my pleasant daily walks all the more enjoyable. Endorphins and Hydrangeas — what a great combination!
Have you spent hours creating a beautiful garden?
On behalf of everyone who walks by — Thank You!
You’ve made this world a better place.
