The Beauty of Making a Choice

Thank you, Pamela Oglesby, for a tag to this challenge. And Trisha Faye for creating the Good Vibes Club. I’m proud to be a member.

This or That?: preferences help define us.

Resolutions or No resolutions?

Do you know the Enneagram? It’s my favorite personality typing tool. Better than Myers-Briggs. I’m an Enneagram One, code name the reformer. Resolution is my middle name, minute by minute.

Mountains or Oceans?

It’s early morning in the summer of 1973. I live in the middle of America. I’m behind the wheel of my first new car, a Toyota Carolla. I approach an entrance to east-west Interstate 80. West is the Rockies and east is the Atlantic. That man went east. This man goes west.

Fiction or Nonfiction?

Fiction at night; nonfiction during the day. A little voice says this is how it should be. I’m sick of that voice.

Morning or Night?

I’m the anti-Dracula.

Long or Short?

Medium articles? Short, for reading and writing. Are adjectives and adverbs really necessary?

Books or audiobooks?

Rebecca and I live in two towns in Iowa, 323 miles apart. On the road, audio. At home, books.

Coffee or Tea?

When I was 10, we took a boat from Chicago to Michigan across Lake Michigan. My mother gave me tea to quell my queasy stomach. Queasy is not necessary. Nor was the tea.

Reading or Writing?

Writing is not possible without reading. Is reading possible without writing?

Handwritten or Typed?

Typed as I am ashamed of the D I got for typing in high school. See the Enneagram link.

Sweet or Sarcastic?

There is a place for both. But today we need sweet.

Salt or Pepper?

She’s the pepper of the earth makes no sense.

Laptop or Desktop?

I write in a chair with my feet on a stool.

Clap or Follow?

The clap shows attention is paid. A comment is better.

Funny or Serious?

Funny can be serious. Or what’s the point?

Hobby or Career?

At 73, I only have hobbies.

Pen name or no pen name

The Anti-Dracula. Just to see if you are reading carefully.

Winter or Summer

We live in Iowa, USA. We know both and will spend next January in San Diego.

Airplanes or Automobiles

Both. We will fly to San Diego and rent a car.

Tonic or Soda?

Gin and soda????

Sunrise or Sundown?

It’s not sunrise creepin' round Gordon Lightfoot’s back stairs.
