Summary

The provided content discusses the ongoing debate between the merits and limitations of Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) versus Human Intelligence (H.I.), emphasizing the importance of acknowledging A.I.'s role as a tool for human creativity and research rather than a replacement for human artists and writers.

Abstract

The web content presents a nuanced perspective on the relationship between A.I. and H.I., acknowledging the utility of A.I. tools like Open A.I. Chat GPT for research and report generation while stressing the irreplaceable nature of human creativity, particularly in literary and artistic endeavors. The author, Warren Brown, shares personal experiences as a writer and artist, illustrating the value of human imagination and the unique qualities that human artists bring to their work. While embracing A.I. for its assistance in creating professional reports and inspiring art, Brown is adamant that A.I.-generated literary and artistic content should not be passed off as purely human creations. He advocates for transparency in the use of A.I. and supports the fusion of A.I. art with human-written stories, as seen in his own comic books. The text also references external articles and resources that delve into the differences between A.I. and H.I., the potential dangers of conflating the two, and the development of tools to detect A.I.-generated content.

Opinions

  • A.I. is a powerful tool for research and compiling information, but it should not replace human creativity and intelligence.

There is a raging controversy between Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) and Human Intelligence (H.I.). The cognitive processes of learning and problem solving that humans have is replicated by computers, with the assistance of technologies that are powered by artificial intelligence. Creativity, Perception, and Memory are the common traits that are embodied in human intelligence.

Open A.I. Chat GPT is wonderful for preparing reports and for doing any form of research. In my opinion as a writer, A.I. is a useful tool and an advanced form of a search-engine like Google, that brings information together and compiles all the details that you need, in a presentation that you have specified as a human user. A.I. gives us in output whatever we feed input into its memory.

However, there are humans who use A.I. to generate literary content that resembles human created content, and present it as their own. This is an insult to the human brain and the creativity, imagination of that individual. It needs to be noted that when writers use any form of artificial intelligence, for either research or composition, it needs to be stated at the end of their work. This piece of writing has not been generated with artificial intelligence. I am more than capable of writing whatever I want, as creatively as I want, using my human imagination and creativity. I am capable of writing creative literary pieces on any subject, as and when I wish to and of any length, that readers will want to read.

If I have to generate a proper professional Report, with facts, information and other important information that is needed, I will definitely use a powerful A.I. tool to gather, accumulate and put all the facts together. I will need to go through everything and use those pieces of information to create my human presentation, with my experiences and perspective, that makes it unique to me. I will also state at the end of the professional project report, that artificial intelligence was used in the form of Open AI Chat GPT for research purposes only.

I love art and I have been doing sketching and coloring from a young age. I remember drawing from my first “Super-boy” comic, at the age of 6 years. I love comic book art published by DC and Marvel comics. Since that time, I have done a lot of drawing and continue to do so. During the pandemic, I tried doing a bit of digital art, using a digital pen and tablet. This was so exciting for me as an artist and I proceeded to make my first comic book, “Pandemic Blasters”. All the images were drawn on the computer by me, it was long and arduous process, but it was a rewarding exercise, as well as therapeutic for me at that time.

I have always loved comic book art. The day came about two years ago, when I happened to see A.I. generated art. My mind was blown and I fell in love with AI artwork. According to what I have read, the work of living and deceased artists was used to enable the A.I. art generators to “learn”, how to do similar art.

The work of a human artist is unique and special. If a piece is used to “inspire”, and generate art it will not be the same. All A.I. generated art that I have seen and generated myself is not perfect. In an A.I. generated piece of art, you will see the imperfections or the perfections, that exist. An artwork done by a human will have its human signature, from the brushstrokes to the special qualities that only a human artist can convey in his or her artwork. I am not a scientist, but I am an artist, and I feel that AI art can never replace human art. I am sure that any A.I. created art will be detected as a forgery by any art expert or even by a trained eye or forgery art detector.

Due to my love of A.I. generated art, I have done a bit of fusion with my written stories. I have successfully merged A.I. art with my stories in the form of comic books. Over the last year I have published about five comic books with A.I. generated art. In most cases, AI art, has inspired me to write stories.

I walk a fine line between A.I. and H.I. because I am against creative literary work being created with the use of A.I. by human authors who wish to publish it as their own original work. I totally support the literary work created by Human Intelligence, with the aid of A.I. for research purposes only.

I love A.I. art, and I support and encourage human artists. I feel that A.I. art will never replace human artists. A.I. art reminds me of imperfect clones of human created art pieces. A.I. is a mere tool, and it does what it is told to create. I think Leonardo Da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo and Rembrandt would have a laugh looking at A.I. generated art. I feel that to them it may look like doodles painted by children. There is a lot that goes into every art piece created by a human person, that includes his or her experiences, learning, style and skill in every pencil line and in every brushstroke.

Human Intelligence will always win in the battle between A.I. and H.I. of this I am certain. It is up to humans to use their human intelligence to work with artificial intelligence in the future. The computer was a threat to the typewriter. Both are just tools that we as humans to use to our disadvantage or advantage. When we as humans use these new writing tools for positive work we are “taming the beast”, which in this case is Artificial Intelligence instead of being controlled by it. Human Intelligence will always win, as long as we have our human conscience and soul, which are both, almost impossible to replicate.
