Do You Feel Like The Algorithm Hates You?
There are two things you can do about it.

Lately, there’s been a lot of talk about the algorithm.
‘The algorithm hates me, I must’ve done something to upset it.’
It’s a sentiment I’ve heard many times.
And there’s some truth in it.
It seems like growing an audience in 2024 is a bit more challenging than it was in 2023.
We’re left with two choices though.
1) Some writers are taking the path of constant complaints and blaming the algorithm for everything.
It’s an easy way out that feels good because it shifts the responsibility away from us.
I see a lot of users go down this road and I was one of them recently.
But I’m choosing a new approach.
2) Option 2 is a less popular but more rewarding option.
Focus on becoming a better writer.
Improve your writing game.
It means putting in some work and taking responsibility for our own challenges.
Unfortunately, I’ve seen that only a small group of creators are choosing this path.
Many find comfort in complaining and growth hacking rather than putting in the effort to improve.
So while some are busy trying to ‘hack’ the algorithm and figure out its secrets, it might not be the best use of time.
Focusing too much on tactics might give short-term benefits, if any, but could lead to long-term frustration.
The Smart Move
The real solution is continuous improvement and persistence.
Like the British saying, ‘crack on.’
With the platform becoming more crowded, only the best content creators will shine in 2024 and beyond.
Despite changes in the algorithm, human metrics still play a significant role.
Content that grabs people’s attention and keeps them on the platform will always get a boost, whether it’s a human boost or an algo boost.
Adapting, getting better and finding ways to stand out of the crowd will be the key to success.
