The AI Content Quick And Easy Money Scams
Exposing the dark side of using AI for content creation
The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) has made various mundane tasks a lot easier, from self-parking cars to enhancing everyday conveniences such as virtual assistants like Siri or Alexa.
One area where AI has made a significant impact is content creation, offering individuals the promise of quick and easy money through the use of automated writing tools, along with video, music creation software, and AI voice-overs.
I personally love messing with the AI voice generator that sounds like famous people! But there are a few issues when AI goes beyond just simple entertainment, like using Morgan Freeman’s voice to message my wife.
The Temptation of Easy Money
With all of these AI-driven tools, it’s easier than ever for the individual to generate quick and inexpensive content quickly.
These tools promise to churn out a seemingly endless stream of articles, blog posts, and videos with minimal effort. For many people, the chance to earn passive income from the comfort of their own homes is irresistible.
This causes many of the inexperienced to dive headfirst into the world of AI-driven content creation without fully understanding the implications of what they are doing.
The Reality of AI Content Creation
The reality of AI-driven content creation is that doing it properly and professionally is not as easy as the YouTube video showed you. I agree it’s true that AI can assist creators in generating content more efficiently, but relying solely on an automated tool comes with significant drawbacks.
The quality of AI-generated content often falls short of its human-created counterparts. At first glance, it may appear good, but upon comparing the finished product with that of a professional, it becomes clear that the AI content is not as well made and sadly lacks that polished result.
A lot of AI-generated content has errors, inconsistencies, misaligned pixels missing parts such as fingers or even eyes, poor audio, and other quality issues such as unnatural sentence structure. Shudder at that horrible-sounding AI voice with the pauses in the wrong place.
Yes, yes AI lovers, I am sure there are some AI voices out there that come close to a real human speaking BLAH BLAH BLAH!
The legality of using AI content
Beyond the quality issues in AI-generated content, there’s a darker side to these tools.
AI-generated content uses images, sounds, videos, blog posts, and so on from around the internet.
The AI takes bits and pieces from different artist’s work and mixes them. Many AI content creators will argue this is fine. But if you ask ChatGPT about the legal risks of using AI commercially, you will get this answer.
“Using ChatGPT or any AI language model for commercial purposes entails several legal risks, including:
Copyright Infringement: AI-generated content may inadvertently incorporate copyrighted material from the training data. Using such content without proper authorization or attribution can lead to copyright infringement claims from the original creators or copyright holders.
Plagiarism: AI-generated content may closely resemble existing works, raising concerns about plagiarism. If the content is used commercially without proper attribution or acknowledgment of its AI-generated nature, it could result in accusations of plagiarism and legal consequences.
Contractual Violations: Commercial use of AI-generated content may violate contractual agreements or terms of service imposed by the provider of the AI model. Failure to comply with these terms could lead to legal liabilities, including breach of contract claims.
Misrepresentation: Presenting AI-generated content as original work or failing to disclose its AI-generated nature in commercial contexts may constitute misrepresentation. This could result in legal challenges, particularly if the content is used for promotional or marketing purposes.
Defamation or Libel: AI-generated content that includes false or defamatory statements about individuals or entities could lead to defamation lawsuits and legal liabilities for the commercial entity using the content.
Privacy Violations: Using AI-generated content that contains sensitive or private information about individuals without their consent may violate privacy laws and result in legal action.
Trademark Infringement: Incorporating trademarks or copyrighted logos into AI-generated content without proper authorization may constitute trademark infringement, leading to legal claims by the trademark owners.

So even according to the AI that these creators use, it is NOT fine!
I wonder how many of them have done what the AI suggests and ensured they were not breaking trademarks, copyrighted material, and so on? I would guess very few to none.
Exploitation and Deception
Individuals and organizations are capitalizing on the allure of easy money by promoting AI-driven content creation as a get-rich-quick scheme. They prey on the naivety, desperation and, of course, greed of the aspiring creator with the lure and promises of lucrative earnings and passive income opportunities, only to exploit them for their gain. From the YouTube tutorial that says “You can do it, too” to the website that gives you
“For only $9.99 a month, you can create unlimited clips and movies to upload to social media, totally copyright-free!”
But we’ve already established these are not copyright-free! So what do you think is going to happen when someone sues that site because you’ve used their images, music, audio, or written content without their express permission?
The site will disappear with their profit (your money). You and hundreds or even thousands like you at best will have their videos removed from the site you are using or even more disastrous, the channel could be deleted. All that work of creating, uploading, writing descriptions, finding the right tags, thumbnails, and so on is GONE! Hours and hours of work. No matter what these adverts, videos, or blog posts say, these things do take both work and time!
Worse still, you might find yourself being sued for earnings by the copyright holder. The AI video creation site that you paid your money to has gone! The owners of that site live somewhere in Southeast Asia, and their servers are in the Cayman Islands. They can’t be found, however the person that posted a video with copyrighted material on it can be, and that person being you!
Protecting yourself from AI content creation scams
How can you protect yourself from falling victim to an AI content creation scam?
Do Your Research
Before investing time, and especially money into any AI-driven content creation site or tool, thoroughly research its reputation, read reviews pay attention to any negative reviews and how many reviews the site has that seem embellished. No respectable site or tool will pay people to give them glowing reviews.
Any platform that promises unrealistic results, such as all you have to do, is this. Or guarantees overnight success is more than likely a scam.
Trust Your Instincts
If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Invest in Your Skills
Instead of relying on automated tools to create content, invest in developing your skills and knowledge. High-quality and original content will always be in demand, and by focusing on these essential parts of your product, you can build a sustainable and fulfilling career without resorting to shortcuts or get-rich-quick scams.
In Conclusion
(For those that have read my other takes on AI)
While AI-driven content creation is a valuable tool for writers and content creators, it’s essential to approach it with caution. There’s a temptation to give into the promise of easy money and to cut corners by relying solely on automated tools. Instead, it would be better to stay informed and focus on producing genuine, quality content.
