The 5-Step Process to an Extraordinary Rest of the Year
Don’t wait for another New Year; create momentum for the life you want now.

1. Create a vision for your life
At any time in your life, you can decide to start over. Every single day, we are given a brand new slate. Whether it be to apply for a new job, make healthier lifestyle choices, achieve a greater level of fitness, or deepen our relationships.
“It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped ‘ — Tony Robbins.
The question is always, who do you want to be? What’s the vision you have for your life five or ten years from now? What is the vision for your life for today? Because what we do daily has a significant impact on the rest of our lives.
Feed your mind.
Everything you think, feel and do is a product of what you feed your mind. So, provide your mind with nourishing ideas. Be selective about what you read, watch and engage in.
Nourish your body.
Your physical health and well-being impact how you feel and live your days. Are you getting enough sleep, eating well, and exercising? It should matter to you if you’re in good shape or not because it affects your mood and the quality of your work.
Choose your friends wisely.
If you want to grow in any aspect of your life, you need to surround yourself with enough people whose values align with yours.
And who you want to be in five or ten years starts with the choices you make today. Our decisions impact the vision we have for our lives at this moment.
2. Embrace Uncertainty And Choose Curiosity
We all know that growth lies beyond our comfort zone, but everything around us — including our minds — is designed to keep us safe.
The best way to get out of your comfort zone is to get out of your way. By this, I mean to get out of overthinking. And get into your hearts, spirit, and soul.
Every mother would jump into a burning building to save her child without giving it a second thought. If you wanted something bad enough, you’d take the risk and go all in. No matter how uncomfortable it is.
Do you play to win, or do you play not to lose? Don’t let fear take hold of you; live out your vision for your life. Jump in.
“If uncertainty is unacceptable to you, it turns into fear. If it is perfectly acceptable, it turns into increased aliveness, alertness, and creativity.” — Eckhart Tolle.
3. Master Resilience
Resilience is the ability to bounce back in the face of adversity. Resilience is not about never feeling fear or experiencing setbacks. But it’s about adapting, picking yourself up in the face of setbacks.
Life happens. Resilience is what you do when life happens.
“We need resilience and hope and a spirit that can carry us through the doubt and fear. We need to believe that we can effect change if we want to live and love with our whole hearts.” – Brené Brown.
Mindfulness and meditation can help still your mind allowing you to put things in perspective. It’s not about glossing over painful experiences but giving a healthy space for them. So you can choose your response.
4. Take Action
Nothing happens if nothing happens! All the talking in the world won’t get you from point A to B. Only action will. What three things can you do right now to achieve a goal?
If you want to complete your novel, open your computer and start writing. Schedule a consistent time to write daily. How much are you willing to dedicate each day towards this goal?
Have a timeline for when you’ll complete the first draft of the first ten chapters. And then the next ten.
Look For Meaning
In your journey, remember that it is more than achieving goals. It’s about finding meaning in your goals. This comes from knowing your “why.”
Why do you want what you want? Allow your “why” to be your North Star. Come back to your “why” when you feel lost.
Bringing it all together
We’re entering June, and don’t lose hope if you have not even been close to where you’d like to be. Life is a series of decisions followed by action. We self-sabotage out of fear and stay stuck.
The five steps listed above will help you with the action you need to take to get where you want to be. What’s can you do now to create momentum to help you achieve one thing in your life?
