Community is important. Not just here on Medium, but in general as well.

Often we might forget to show appreciation to those who are there for us.

In this post, I’d like to show my appreciation to four amazing writers, who have been supporting my writing journey by frequently engaging with my work:

Victoria Valentine, Boateng Sekyere, Rick Lewis and Dr Mehmet Yildiz.

Thank you so much for your kind words, your engagement, your support, and the pleasant and frequent interactions!

I have been reading the works of these writers as well, and every time I do so I am amazed by their intriguing, interesting, and inspiring content.

So I’d like to share with you an article by each of these writers. It was hard to pick just one, but these are a good starting point if you’d like to read more.

So if you have some time and are looking for inspiration and actionable advice, read along. It is worth your time!

Victoria Valentine

Victoria writes amazing articles on productivity and self-improvement. One of the articles that I really liked exposes the falsehoods that we tell ourselves that negatively impact our lives.

In this article, she makes us aware of the way we speak to ourselves, and how we can change it to live happier lives:

A quote from this article that stuck with me:

“Take every moment to turn defeat into determination and insecurity into inspiration.” — Victoria Valentine

To Victoria: Thank you for your frequent support, thank you for writing actionable and inspiring articles, and thank you for your kindness and positive vibes!

Boateng Sekyere

Boateng is another great writer whose work I love to read. He mostly writes about self-improvement, well-being, life lessons, and writing.

This article below talks about four signs that show you might be too busy. It is a great reminder to check yourself once in a while, and to not forget to implement much-needed leisure time in your life:

“If you think leisure is a waste of time, maybe that’s a sure sign you’re too busy. Mark it somewhere before you crumble under the load of your schedules and force yourself to take an even more extended rest.” — Boateng Sekyere

To Boateng: Thank you for your ongoing support, your insightful and thought-provoking comments, and your inspiring dedication to your own writing!

Rick Lewis

Rick writes in an amusing, thoughtful, and heart-warming way about self-improvement, life, life lessons, and writing. He often mixes in his own life experiences as well, which makes his stories relatable and engaging.

Here’s an insightful (and amusing) article of his in which he gives good advice on how to prepare for your writing journey:

The part that made me smile most in this article was this one:

“The brave” — Rick Lewis

You’ll understand once you’ve read this article ;)

To Rick: Thank you for your support and engagement, and thank you for writing inspiring articles that always make me smile.

Dr Mehmet Yildiz

Dr. Mehmet Yildiz, the founder of the publication ILLUMINATION (amongst many other things), writes about topics such as health, self-improvement, and life.

He writes detailed and inspiring articles that give actionable advice on how to improve your own well-being and health.

One article that I particularly liked, was this article on how improving sleep and other lifestyle habits could dramatically improve your anxiety and help you lose weight:

I especially liked the reminder of the importance to take care of our minds so we can have a healthy and fulfilling life.

“learning to meditate reduced his anxiety.” — dr. Mehmet Yildiz

To dr. Mehmet Yildiz: Thank you for your support in the ILLUMINATION community, thank you for engaging with and sharing my work, and thank you for writing helpful articles that help me live a healthier life!

Final thoughts

In this article, I say a special thank you to the writers above, who frequently support me in my writing journey. My appreciation for them is huge.

However, I’d also like to say that I am grateful for all the support I’ve been getting on Medium.

Every comment, every clap, every highlight means the world to me. So I hope if you’re reading this, dear reader, that you don’t feel left behind. I see your support as well, and I salute you. Thank you for reading and engaging with my content. I appreciate you.

I am looking forward to continuing to engage with the community, showing my appreciation and support, and helping others grow as well. The whole journey becomes way more fun that way.

Thank you for reading, and let’s connect more and support each other!

Tons of love,

Jelena
