Terrarium

A Poem

Photo by Jeff Sheldon on Unsplash

So far we’ve made two of them - tiny jars of life.

The layers are comforting.

Tiny rocks and pebbles on the bottom,

some sand, some potting soil and then stones and moss and plants

on the top hiding tiny figures who

delight — a tiny glass bunny some red and white mushrooms, a fairy.

Little treasures inside

tiny forests we roam through

using our imaginations. We lay on our stomachs looking

at the side the rocks the dirt the plants -

This is life! Just add water.
