WRITING CHALLENGE
10-Word Stories
My attempt at this fun challenge

I was recently inspired to write my own ten-word stories after reading Sheri Jacobs’ writing prompt to come up with a story in just ten words.
These are not complete stories, but they do serve as a springboard for further thought and imagination.
Here goes. Hope you enjoy reading them.
- Laying on his deathbed, he confessed he was her father.
- When she opened the pink envelope, she wept for joy.
- Her head turned slowly, feeling his intense gaze on her.
- He clutched his chest moments before collapsing in the room.
- Seeing her family safe, she breathed a sigh of relief.
- Looking for the life support, she knew it was over.
- Shortly after consuming suspicious food, he felt his throat constricting.
- The family secrets would forever remain locked in the safe.
- He looked into her eyes, terrified, and lost all hope.
- His dancing lit up the room like a blazing fire.
If you have a favorite story, please comment on which and why.
I would like to shout out these incredible ten-word stories by Rebecca Hawkes, Suzy Jacobson Cherry, and Lo Everlasting.
Tagging other amazing storytellers to join in the fun if they so desire: Hollie Petit, Ph.D., Michele Maize, Sharing Randomly, Grace Bianco, Mia Verita, Natalie, Judy Walker, Connie Song, Linda Ng, and Osan Fernando.
