TEN-WORD STORY CHALLENGE
Ten 10-Word Stories to Go with 10 Silly Photos
Challenge Accepted!
I’ve seen some great writers participate in this challenge. I wasn’t sure if I was up for it. For some reason, I had a hard time coming up with stories for these photos. I’m glad I stuck with it and completed the challenge!
It is turning out to be one of those days.

It had been a long sixteen-hour shift at work. When I got home, I worked on some annoying computer software issues that needed to be resolved.
Finally, I sat down to relax and sip on a nice cup of latte. Until I noticed a fly taking a relaxing bath in my cup. At least one of us was able to relax.
Welcome to my web. Can I offer you a fly?

No thank you Spider-Girl, there’s already a fly in my latte. I appreciate your hospitality.
We need to discuss the situation at the bird feeder.

I took this photo last year, but this remains one of the cutest squirrels I’ve ever seen. He sat patiently on my fence while I took his photo. He may or may not have been waiting for me to refill the bird feeder.
I noticed the squirrels are growing a lot chubbier and the birds are getting skinnier. I’m sure it’s due to the fact that squirrels raid the bird feeder on a daily basis.
Can I have privacy, please? I am trying to bathe.

Of course this photo could share the same caption as the squirrel. I’m sure the birds would like to discuss the situation at the bird feeder, too.
I love watching birds bathing in the birdbath. It sounds kind of creepy when I say it like that, though.
At least the squirrels don’t get in the fountains. The birds are very clean creatures. If the water gets a bit dirty, they’ll refuse to use the birdbath. They’ll fly around it and wait until I get the hint to clean it. Once I clean it, they’ll all pile in like they’ve never seen water in their lives.
Of course I try to keep their water clean, because the last thing I want is a lot of stinky birds flying around the yard. The squirrels already complain enough about the birds as it is.
The squirrels are eating all our food. This means war!

The leader of the Blue Jays called a community meeting this evening in the backyard. All neighborhood birds were in attendance. We might need security if the squirrels show up and start a turf war.
Blue jays are the dominant bird species in my yard. They’re constantly fussing at the squirrels. Actually they’re constantly fussing at everyone and everything. They sure are beautiful, though.
Strike a pose. Make sure you get my good side.

Aqua Girl has the sweetest smile. I love how she poses for the camera. Such a supermodel!
Her eyes are fascinating. Not only are they beautiful, but she also has excellent vision.
Dragonflies have two large compound eyes, each with thousands of lenses, and three eyes with simple lenses. Each retina contains several thousand photoreceptors that collect light and send information about the visual scene to interneurons.
This is the perfect sized chair for the alpha dog.

I’m including several photos of my little Isabela, in this post. She passed away last week, so this is a sweet way to remember her.
What I found most fascinating about her, was that wherever I put her, she stayed. If I sat her in a chair, she would sit there until I moved her. She was extremely obedient. As long as she felt comfortable, she was happy.
So sweet, until someone tries to take away my bone.

Isa was only a few years old in this photo. We miss her already, but sharing her photos and talking about her, brings me joy.
Being cute is such hard work. I need a nap.

Another photo of Isa’s puppy days.
Help! Someone please get this heavy cat off of me!

Our cat grew up with our dogs, and I’m convinced she thought she was a dog. These two wrestled and played constantly for years. They were best friends. I miss them both dearly, but they lived long happy lives. For that, I am thankful.
Thank you for reading.
