# Opinions

- The author believes that our conclusions about strangers are not necessarily rooted in prejudice but in our preconceived ideas influenced by our own life experiences.
- Everyone is seen as a collection of different colors and perspectives, contributing to a diverse and vibrant community.
- Personal stories are valuable and should be told by the individual themselves, as they are the only ones who can truly convey their own experiences.
- The "ugly" parts of our stories are just as important as the positive ones, as they are integral to our growth and self-acceptance.
- By sharing our stories, we can teach others through our experiences, potentially preventing them from making similar mistakes and fostering a culture of self-love and mutual understanding.

Tell your story

Let people know who you are

Have you ever seen a stranger in a street and come to some conclusion about them? Where do those conclusions come from? Some may say prejudices, or cultures, your upbringing or society views. No, I don’t think that everyone is prejudiced, though we all act from some preconceived ideas or ideals.

We are a rainbow world. Think of the sun shining through the darkness. In our lives there is rain. It refreshes us, enables growth, but can be destructive. We are the rainbow that shines as the rain hits the beams of light from the sun. Each of us are made up of different colours, different shades. We all shine through and cascade over others. Let the various colours, which we all are, flow over all those around us. May we never be seen as one colour, one thought process.

So what is your story? Where do you come from, your view of the world, your rich heritage and traditions? When we see you, what do we also see? It is time to tell your story, of who you are and who you are becoming. Never let others tell or define your story. It is yours to tell. When you tell your story, tell it with love, with care. Love yourself and show that love. I am sure there are some “ugly” spots, things you have learn’t which you don’t want others to see, things you are not proud of. The reality is though that they are your story still, they have defined you in some way. Show what you have learnt from those experiences.

You see the story we tell is important to others. They can learn from it. Maybe they won’t make the same mistakes we made. Maybe they will learn to love themselves and others through what we share. Who knows. Defining yourself, your own testimony as to the life you have led and are leading, helps you love yourself more and others to. We know that is not an easy things to do. Take a notebook and write just a few words down each day as to how you feel, where you fell today and had to pick yourself up, where you loved and were loved. Look for common themes in those words and situations over a period of time. Live in the love, in the light. Be a rainbow for others.
