Tapping Into Creative Energy

Ways to get unblocked, including a guided meditation for creativity.

As writers, we all face the dreaded writer’s block occasionally. I find it is best not to force my writing because it will either lack quality or my readers will feel the negative energy when they read it. My best writing flows through me almost as if the divine is typing through me. I am sure many of you can relate to this feeling.

Ways To Overcome Writer’s Block And Spark Creativity

  • Go for a walk in nature.
  • Do something out of the ordinary.
  • Read.
  • Work out or practice yoga.
  • Do something creative, such as drawing, cooking, baking, making jewelry, or painting.
  • Meditate.

Good Energy When Writing

I prefer to write in my office at my nice big desk. I have a large window to my left that overlooks a beautiful pool and palm trees. I feel it is critical to surround myself with small things that inspire me and create a positive writing environment.

Behind my desk is a large Buddha, a very large selenite crystal, and a singing bowl. On my desk, I keep several crystals depending on my mood that day. (I have an extensive collection, and each has its own healing quality.) I also have a notebook next to me for research.

While you write, ensure your writing environment’s energy is cheerful and inspiring. A cheerful, inspiring environment will help you stay in a flow state.

Meditation to Spark Creativity

Sit in a comfortable seated position. Relax your head, neck and shoulders. Breathe in deeply through your nose and out deeply through your nose. Release any tension you may be holding.

If any thoughts pop into your mind, acknowledge them and then set them aside for later — they will return. Turn your thoughts back to your breath.

I invite you to close your eyes to allow yourself to go deeper into this meditation, but soften your gaze o keep your eyes .

With your eyes closed, imagine a color dancing through your body. Breathe in through your nose, breathe out through your nose.

Imagine on each exhale that color leaving your body and filling the room. On each inhale image, a new color dances up through your body.

Continue breathing in and breathing out a rainbow of beautiful colors.

As you continue filling your body and the room around you with a vibrant rainbow of creative energy, the following mantras will spark more creativity within…

  • Everything I need to create is already within me.
  • My vision is wild and free.
  • I surrender to this moment and create freely.
  • I thrive free from expectations.
  • My art is my own.
  • My creativity is an adventure that allows my inner child to be at peace.

Continue breathing in through your nose and out through your nose.

And now your mind is as free as a blank canvas. Slowly coming back into the present. Invite small, gentle movements back into the body.

Take a moment to notice how you feel.

This is my recorded meditation today on YouTube. For some people, listening rather than reading is more effective for meditation. I hope you enjoy it.
