THE SUMMIT / MOTIVATION / WEEKLY PROMPT
Take Your Hello Tour
Hit the open road if you embark on changes in your life, new beginnings, or inspiration for growth.
PROMPT: What do you want? What would you do with your life if you didn’t have to worry about money or other people’s opinions?
Searching for your life and figuring out what you do want shouldn’t have only one answer or be labeled as necessary by society. The simplest joys can be the treasure you already hold.
We all need to pay bills, and until I win the lottery, money issues will have a place of discussion but not a seat at the family table.
Other people’s opinions shouldn’t stop you or your ideas, convictions, or plans. You don’t need to live your life to please or appease others. This life is your journey, so the career you choose, spouse or partner, family values, places you go, or things you do are in your best interest.
Self-reflection
In my life, getting ready to turn 50, I feel like I can finally answer what I want without feeling selfish and following what draws me out into the world.
I’ve been a Mom for over half my life already. Since being blessed with the privilege, each decision made leads with my children in mind, my first thought, and deciding factor. That is how I care for their growth and spiritual destination.
I am not sacrificing but enhancing my inner drive for exploration and adventure. I am taking a flight of hope celebrating lives lived and new beginnings.
Goodbye or hello
My Dad, who has Alzheimer’s and other detrimental health conditions that can quickly worsen, has made a point a few years back to go around some states in the U.S. as he was able to see his family and some friends. He has thankfully been able to do that a couple of times and is planning another trip farther away this year.
In discussions surrounding the travel implications and possible worst-case scenarios, our family had kindly named it his farewell or goodbye tour. No negativity intended. It was a rush of emotions to lay more memories for him.
I am overwhelmed by a need to greet the world and say hello, again. I want to introduce myself as it hasn’t known this version before and welcome friends and family into this self-discovery hello tour.
I will speak truth into who I was, presently am, and still growing into the second half of a century, I shall boldly live.
Travel
Our vibrant world and beautiful landscape constantly change with lasting effects caused by our human hands and their evolution.
With life’s brevity fully illustrated through the Pandemic, there may not be a tomorrow for you, as sad as that is to say or hear or me.I want to open the sky and have it rain down breadcrumbs to build my path from where my feet rest to their step upon my peak.
I want to discover who I am without the containment of walls around my mind or body. I seek for old friends or family to find a transformed me with the once dimmed light now shining bright, leading my way.
Writing
I will always write. It gives voice to my thoughts and balances my need for creativity, gratitude, celebration, and connection.
Writing builds respect mindfully for myself and others. I don’t know if I ever could have begun to love myself as fully if I didn’t write the feelings floating around my headspace and negatively screaming at me. Being able to decipher truth from a thief of joy laid the foundation for my healing mentally and physically.
