Take Me To The Woods Again
A walk in the woods is most enjoyable

Adventure walk in the woods of Albany
The woods are full of life.
“The woods are never solitary– they are full of whispering, beckoning, friendly life” — — L.M. Montgomery
The woods are full of natural grace and beauty. Every woody area is unique and has its own vegetation. They are amazing natural scenery.
It is that part of nature that we have to experience to get the best out of it. It inspires everyone to enjoy the natural environment and get a lot of mental freshness and creativity. Many people are also inspired to do sports and hiking and spiritual trips to lovely forest areas.
The Albany Hills a suburb near Sanfrancisco is blessed with woods full of trees. It starts with Eucalyptus trees and goes on to various kinds of vegetation.
One day, my son asked my grandkids to go with me for a walk while he completed other jobs in the house.
The woods were undulating and the slopes were sharp at certain places. There were steep slopes. My grandkids held me and took me with them on those slopes. It was so easy for them to climb and I found it particularly hard to climb.
They laughed gleefully as they marched ahead of me asking me to jump in many places that were slippery and sloping.
One of them would hide and I would keep calling out their names. There it would be eerie and quiet and I would still walk on because I knew that I would land up in some clearing.

True to what I thought I lost my grandkids in the forest and I came across these beautiful plants. They were all jungle beauties.
I do not know the name of these flowers. They look like hibiscus but they are not.
The flowers were surrounded by different kinds of plants with beautiful leaves. My grandsons came looking for me over there as they knew about that area and were sure to find me near some flowers.

We moved along and saw thick vegetation of pines of different kinds. They hid the sun completely from view and we were engulfed by the different trees. It was quiet below and we lost our way or so I thought.
The boys were pranksters and they told me that we lost our way but I was pretty sure they knew the way.
I had thrown little pieces of seeds because I was sure I would not find the way back. When I tried to find those they were not there. Either the birds had eaten them or we were on the wrong path.

We reached a place where we saw this wall👆🏼. My grandsons told me that we had to jump this wall to reach the building where they lived.
Can you imagine the adventure when I actually scaled and jumped the wall? The kids acted smart but did not know where exactly we were.
We landed in the right building where I saw beautiful plants that I immediately recognized.

These lovely sun-yellow plants greeted us at the entrance. 👆🏼We were back.
I went on several walks in the woods and each time it was an adventure.
What did I enjoy in the woods?
- I enjoyed the cool breeze. It was sometimes chilling under the trees and sometimes warm in the sun. I kept wearing and taking off my jacket.
- I loved the noises and the sounds. The birds were flapping their wings making a sound. Some of them were singing. I saw the frisky squirrels making noise while eating some fruit. The eerie sound of some insect.
- I was thrilled getting lost sometimes and also the grandkids hiding away and finding pranks to scare me. I would call their names and they would not answer as I feared that they should be fine.
- The solitary place where my grandkids found places for me to do yoga. The creativity and the inspiration to move out of the box and do new and enjoyable activities.
- The fun of scaling a wall just outside the woods and finding myself fit to do so. The woods are full of risks and we have to be ready for it. Life is an adventure and we should enjoy the fun.
To wrap up
Woods teach you that everyone can live in peace together. all the sounds of nature are different. Some may sound pleasant to the ear and some maybe not so good but they blend together for a harmonious beautiful life.
It gives us many lessons and ideas on good relationships and beautiful lives. We can get amazing ideas from the woods. It tests our patience and makes us more resilient and strong by making us climb steep and difficult places.
Be inspired by the thorns and the flowers that live together in the woods. we human beings can also do so and blend with each other even if we are unique and different.
I yearn for the woods. Take me to the woods again.
Live and let live.
“You will find something more in woods than in books. Trees and stones will teach you that which you can never learn from masters”. -Saint Bernard
This week I read some interesting stories:
Thank you William J Spirdione for your wonderful thought and prompt on nature in “A Walk In The Woods”.
I actually went for many walks to the woods in different countries but the lack of pictures made me think creatively and I remembered my adventure walks at Albany/Berkeley in the USA where I went so many times for a walk. Each one of them was very pleasant with a flavor of adventure.
