Symbols and Illuminations on a Writer’s Journey- Chapter 2
The Sun and the Rays of Light

Introduction:
It has been four hours that I have now walked on this path through the forest. The sun has started to rise and it is now nearing afternoon as the sun reaches its zenith.
I am tired and need to rest. The temperature keeps rising. The sunlight filters through the canopy of leaves formed by the tall trees of the forest.
The forest floor is drier now in patches where it is warmed by the rays of the sun. I take out my flask of water and drink from it. My thirst is quenched for now. I take out a packet of dried fruits and pop a few into my mouth. I sit under the shade of a tall deciduous tree. Its leaves provide a leafy bed for me to sit and rest.
I take out my sketchbook and start to sketch a few yellow and pink flowers I spot in the distance. The sounds of the forest are music to my ears. The insects, the birds, and the breeze in the trees make this place so relaxing. I take out my notebook and start jotting a few notes.
Symbol: The Sun ☀️
The warmth of the sun makes life possible on earth. The Sun is a powerful symbol of life and living since the dawn of civilization.
Random Thoughts: ☀️☀️
The Sun is the center of the universe. Every home has that one person who is the center around which everyone revolves, like the father, the mother, the son or the daughter of the family or some other family member who is central to the home.
The Aztec High Priestess raises her right hand with the knife above the naked body of her victim tied on the stone altar to the Sun God Huitzilopochtli. The obsidian blade of the large knife glints in the rays of the magnificent Sun.
Signpost: ☀️☀️☀️
As a signpost the Sun reminds us that we need to have one central feature in our lives around which we orbit, it can be a person, a place, a cause, or an object.
Sexy Thoughts: 🌹🌹🌹🌹
The Sun worshippers danced naked around their altar built for the sun God. What would happen to these sun worshippers if the sun no longer rose in the sky?
Casanova looks down at his latest conquest, as she is bathed under the rays of a golden sun and her hair and body seem to shimmer in the sunlight. A beautiful start to yet another wonderful day and he is certainly happy to be alive.
Crime Scene: 💀
The traveler passes a large concrete sun-dial in the center of the forest. He is shocked at what he sees. The concrete clock is soaked with fresh blood, but there are no bodies in sight. This dial was used as a sacrificial table, but by whom and where were the victims. In the distance, he could hear the sounds of dogs barking. He looked down at his hands and he saw that they were soaked in blood, and drops of blood dripped onto the green grass from the large knife he was holding.
Humour in Mind: 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔
It was the day for the big summer barbeque but the sun decided that he would have a lie-in and it turned out to be a rainy and wet barbeque.
The day of the big wedding of the royal couple had finally arrived. As soon as the bride and groom stepped out of the Church, the skies opened and there was a downpour of rain. Everyone was drenched, from the visitors, the guards, the bridal party, to the buffet and the soggy wedding cake.
Mystery Eyes: 👀👀👀👀👀
The treasure seekers waited for sunrise. According to the legend, the mountain peak would show them the way to the hidden land of gold when the sun was at its zenith in the sky. They waited and waited and then the shadow of the mountain seemed to point to where the forbidden land of gold was located. They could not believe their eyes as the shadow kept on moving towards the waters of the large river.
Poetically Speaking:
As every day starts with the Sun,
Every challenge is lost and won.
We are children of the glorious Sun,
Under it we live, love, laugh, and run.
Writer’s Insight: 🌄
I have used the symbol of the Sun for this chapter to make us aware of the importance of that one essential element in our life, which make us complete as a writer. Every story needs an eye-opening moment to make it interesting for the reader.
At the End of the Day 🌇
The Sun makes our day possible. Though we do a lot in the sunshine, we need to take a break to rest and relax, in order to continue our journey on the road towards the sunset and to our destination.
