Supernovae Nights
A poem about passion and longing
I want to remember you etch your smile into my neurons burn your smell into my soul I want to run my hands through your hair like a lost soldier in the Elysian Fields I want to kiss you, as the sunset does this land upon the breaking of night I want to undress you just like winter strips these trees bare and blankets wrapped in metaphoric fire warms even the coldest of fears I want eternity at this moment for it never to stop never to seize I want to listen as you moan thunderclaps in spring and wrap your legs around me a wanderer in an oasis clings to solid ground, a waterfall spring flows abound I want to listen as you whisper those incantations in my ear like those Siren’s Odysseus fled but I am not here to make it home for home is in your arms and lips home is that nectar pouring forth from our entanglement I don’t desire the finite anymore nor clocks that hold illusions called time only this warmth without heat only this unending Burning Star-forming cotillion desire and carnal chance For as you near a supernova state I know I have done my duty in the multiverse of our inevitable metamorphosis.
