A Kiss
A poem about one of the most wonderful things in existence
That dance of electromagnetic fields, vibrating atomic chance. They wait, patience of poets watching metamorphosis electron repulsing in a firm yet melodic embrace unbeknownst unrequited sincerity remembrance of a love story from the Big Bang, separated eons ago only to find their way now, two eternities coming together at last, it is sung. A moment, lingering. A touch, solidifying. The clocks stop and we hover, watching cosmic dust dissipate above, as galaxies swirl a taste to cover floral sunlight beckoning every neuron releasing that urge to never let go, to never return or grow old. Forever affirmed in biochemical cathedrals of entropic lore your hands firm within the cattails of my hair pulling inwards to the core of impulse. Never let go. Never stop. As salvation is felt in tenderness of smells in the aroma of a trillion excited cells exploding stars the undead rise And I forgot, there was ever a life before this moment, Before this kiss.
