Just what you need in late November

“This section touches base on the subject of the supernatural, or different questions about ghost’s in general.

1] If we hear a strange noise in the house, is it our minds playing tricks on us or is it an actual ghost? Did we really hear a noise, or did we just think we did because we are alone at night?

Nights are usually more quiet than days, and all the sounds are amplified. Also, when we close our eyes (one of our senses), the other four senses increase their capacity.

Houses, especially old ones, creak a lot. Furniture and wooden floors, doors, etc. They all make lots of noise. If you have pets or are in an area with lots of wild animals, then noise might not mean much.

2] Do you believe in ghosts, or the supernatural in general?

I do not. At least not in a way in which the spirits can interfere with the physical world.

I never understood why ghosts are supposed to be so overpowering. Like, they can touch you, but you can’t touch them, and so on.

As a side note, I’m pretty sure that before medicine and science were normalized, people with schizophrenia thought they were seeing actual ghosts.

3] What about scary movies? Do they make you think something is going to happen to you, or someone is watching you?

When I was a child, yes. Now, not so much. A good, scary movie taps into our fears. So it’s normal for that to happen.

But real life is quite scary as it is, and I don’t have the time to fear the supernatural too.

4] Do you ever think you saw dark shadows roaming around the house? Did you think it was a ghost?

Just as sounds, light can often trick us into thinking there is something there when it’s not.

I never saw strange shadows, but I heard strange noises. They turned out to be nothing serious when properly investigated.

5] Did a loved one visit you afterward in a dream, or a person you knew after they passed away?

One time, I dreamed about Aunt Rachel, my deceased, alcoholic aunt. Me and my cousins were playing around in the living room during a family get-together.

Aunt Rachel was there, too. Unlike the others, she had a white face. Nobody but me seemed to notice that.

All of a sudden, she smiled at us and patted the bed right next to her, calling us to sit with her. That action gave me goosebumps for some reason, but my foolish cousin, Antonio, dashed and sat right next to her.

I woke up right after I screamed “no” in my dream and dashed toward them, hard-stretched to pull Antonio out of there.

6] Did it make you wonder if they were the ghost in your house? Did you think they were watching over you?

I would rather have my loved ones rest in peace and not visit me. If there is an eternal afterlife, we’ll see each other there.

7] Did you think about it afterward, and decide you must be silly? Did you question, whether or not it was just your imagination?

One time, I heard scratches on my bedroom door. Popping and other sounds continued until the morning. I couldn’t sleep all night since I had no pet, and I thought it was a ghost or something.

But in the morning, the culprit revealed itself. It was a small bug. I felt so foolish. Why did I assume it was something supernatural?😅

8] Do you believe it was just the presence of evil or the hand of the devil?

If I ever met the devil, let’s say, fear would be normal. But it would also make me smirk, because if the Devil does exist, then so does God. Right? Well, then I’m protected.

If ghosts do exist, then that also means that I can become a ghost after death. What’s the worst a ghost can do to me? Kill me? Well, then I’ll become a ghost too and hunt it for revenge.

9] Do you believe in reincarnation? Do you believe it is possible, that we get to come back and try again?

Hmm. I believe that reincarnation and the Christian God do not mix well together. It’s either one or the other.

Reincarnation will also make more sense if we live in a simulation. I heard that there are many people who believe in this theory.

10] Do you have any stories to tell us, referring to the subject of reincarnation? The reason why you believe in it or something that made you believe in it?

Nope. There’s nothing like that. I have not witnessed anything of this sort.

11] Do you ever wonder if it is relative to a current problem in your life, and your loved ones are reaching out to you from beyond? This is my final question for you all.

I’d rather not. As I said, I wouldn’t want to burden the dead with my problems. Even more so when I have living people to lean on.
