WRITING PROMPT RESPONSE

Sun Bathing During Office Hours

March Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Pet People”

The supervisor. Embracing warm sun rays.

The cat that apparently did not like people quickly became my shadow.

Whenever my boss was out of the country, I was staying at her house looking after the dog “Zak” and the cat. The cat that hated people. Her name was Pita. It wasn’t a random name. Those letters stand for Pain In The A**.

Over my time staying there I learned why she got that name. She wasn’t easy. She loved sitting on my lap, especially when I was in the office room answering emails.

But if the sun was shining this was her spot to catch some warm sun rays.

Do not even think about pulling out that paper she was sitting at. She’ll get mad. Like really mad.

But somehow, we still liked each other.

Mary Chang asked us to share our pet stories in the March writing prompt. While I never owned a pet, I still made a fair share of experiences with pets.

I decided to make a series out of this prompt because I got more stories to tell and experiences to share even though I never owned a pet.

This is the writing prompt if you would like to take part in it as well:

More of the series presenting my relationship with pets I never owned…
