Summer Vacation in Montreal

One day we will return

When I visited Montreal, especially Old Port, I was enchanted by the charming cobblestone. Since then, we have enjoyed many summer vacations visiting different parts of this lovely city, as tourists with fresh eyes.

We watched street performing artists, ate at a few quaint restaurants, including one called Le Jardin Nelson, which we loved so much that we returned the following day for lunch and then again that evening for delectable crepes filled with seafood newburg, along with other culinary delights. We dined on the front terrace, as well as the multi-level outdoor courtyard. We were surprised by this hidden, romantic gem. We ate at many other places as well, all wonderful, but this became ‘our place’ where we once again fell in love under the influence of the food, the ambiance and the stars.

Montreal is so charming and we were totally captivated. The architecture is beautiful and I was so impressed with different styles, including the sector called Bonsecours Market on rue des Communes. I found it lovely and breathtaking, seen in person.

Of course, years have passed and I have not kept up to date with any changes. I just know that Montreal is one of the cleanest, loveliest cities I have visited and I dream of going again one day.

Thank you to Sahil Patel and Reciprocal publication for such an inspiring and engaging space on Medium writing.
