2024 submission guidelines

I’m happy to inform you that Language Lab is currently accepting new writers! Whether you’re new or experienced, you are welcome to submit stories about:

• Innovative language learning methods
• Motivating and inspiring pieces
• Articles exploring the latest scientific developments in language acquisition
• Fascinating aspects of foreign languages (words, expressions, sentence construction, sounds, cultural nuances, etc.)
• Travel articles with a focus on language exploration.

Other notes:

1. Kindly submit only unpublished drafts.
2. Please abide by the Medium Rules. Any stories generated using AI should contain a disclaimer specifying the tool and in what way it was used.
3. Keep the tone conversational and positive! The reader should leave feeling inspired, motivated, or having learned something new.
4. Format your headline and subtitle according to Medium Creators’ guidelines.
5. Keep paragraphs short (max. 2–3 sentences), which will improve readability on mobile.
6. Leave plenty of white space by using bullet points, block quotations, relevant images, embedded links, etc.
7. If appropriate, please add one of the following tags: French, Italian, German, Chinese, English, or Travel. In this way, your story will show up in one of the publication’s tabs.
8. Proofread your article before submitting using Grammarly or another similar tool.
9. Feel free to include 1–2 links to your other articles or another call-to-action at the end of your piece.
